Community Tasting Notes (average 86.5 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 22 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Tranquility Base on 9/26/2021 & rated 84 points: Not really my favorite Rose. However, it would be perfectly good for a picnic where you just want something colorful and refreshing at a very fair price. Certainly better than its competitors at that price. However, it seemed thin in flavor and not enough bite. (583 views)
Tasted by ashikoh on 5/5/2019 & rated 87 points: salmon/peach color; red berries, peach, floral notes, spice; medium body, bone dry, zippy acidity, 12.5% ABV; blend of 70% Cinsault, 20% Grenache, and 10% Carignan by Laurence Féraud of Domaine du Pegau (982 views)
Tasted by mas746 on 11/30/2018 & rated 88 points: Last bottle from the cellar. Still drinking beautifully but probably not for too much longer. Aromas stone and soft fruit lead to soft, red fruit notes and more body than your typical Provence rose. Soft tannins and a strong mineral component lead to racy, bright acidity and a softly tannic finish. Lovely. (1093 views)
Tasted by Oenecnist on 8/8/2018: Bought four from Wine Library for 9/b last year. This is the last one. Rich pink; subdued nose of strawberry, some spice; grenache shows, good mouthfeel. This was good with spinach/feta quiche on a warm night, but it is not memorable. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: I've stopped giving scores on a "100-point scale" as I've become less convinced that they can be meaningful to others. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. I consider this notable when considering quality, age, and price. (1149 views)
Tasted by Claret & CdP Gang on 6/29/2018 & rated 88 points: Lovely rose, fresh & lively but short, good to quench on a hot day! (1249 views)
Tasted by sunalsorises on 7/22/2017 & rated 88 points: Very good value rose. Fruity with decent finish. (1303 views)
Tasted by gbanks on 5/4/2017: Still lively and fresh. Intense apple gooseberry melon salt. (1261 views)
Tasted by Derek Darth Taster on 11/17/2016 & rated 89 points: Masterclass with Laurence Feraud (Caveau Wine Bar): Appearance is clear, aple intensity, salmon pink colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of sweet red cherries, red peach cream, sweet spices. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of red peach, red cherry, spice, pink grapefruit with more air. Medium finish, but some white pepper spice does linger a bit longer.
Very good quality Rose. Easy drink. Nothing really wow, though it definitely is a class above the usual bleah Provencal Roses. In the serious category already.
100% Cinsault. (2035 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 11/2/2016: Rule the Rhone; 10/27/2016-11/3/2016 (Northern & Southern Rhone): 70% Cinsault, 20% Grenache, 10% Carignan. A blend that is vaguely reminiscent to me of some of my favorite Washington State roses. This is crisp and strawberry and other red fruits. A wine which is meant to be drunk this year (the 2016 will be the first wine bottled). As one of the people in our party mentioned, this is the wine you buy when you are out with friends in the summer at the wine bar and want something fresh and quaffable. (2399 views)
Tasted by jnewman77 on 10/6/2016: Very enjoyable wine with fresh melon, strawberry, rosemary, sage, minerality, and floral notes. The palate has good freshness with nice flavors, and feels light and crisp. Not heavy at all like I would worry that it might be from this warmer area and overall quite tasty. (1231 views)
Tasted by Barolo Raymond on 6/26/2016 & rated 89 points: Pale pink, slow moving legs, watery rim. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium(-) alcohol, medium(-) body. Rather closed nose of fruit, dust, mineral. Great palate of red fruit, mineral, saltine notes. Bright texture, structure and some complexity that does not get it the way of sheer enjoyment. Great length with focused lingering finish. Fantastic food wine. (1369 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 6/23/2016 & rated 88 points: A Pegau vertical (and a Foreau) (My Home): Pink/orange in color. The nose has some cherries and also some spice. On the palate, this is simple yet refreshing. Good cherry fruit. Not complex, but really made a nice transition. (1871 views)
Tasted by camben on 6/9/2016: This is ultimate food rose
I love this wine
Ferrand? Great maker (901 views)
Tasted by ey1294 on 5/23/2016 & rated 91 points: - Salmon color and aromas of rose and strawberry. It's balanced and has flavours of strawberry with a light/medium body. Linear texture with a long finish - Slightly sweet nose. Serve chilled. (884 views)
Tasted by JohnnyWine on 5/21/2016 & rated 90 points: Aroma -Pear & melon, very pleasant and mild.
Color - Coral or salmon in color, very clear, brilliant.
Flavor - Drank moderately chilled, sweet -but really very lightly sweet, more pear & melon in the first sip, not tannic, very low astringency on the tongue, barely detectable alcohol in the after taste. Watermelon comes out in the mid section -nice!
Overall -Very pleasant and enjoyable rose! Drank as a precursor to grilled chicken & asparagus. It was a very nice pre-dinner rose and still held up to the chicken & asparagus. Very enjoyable -we liked this wine a lot! We have drank a lot of rose's this spring and this is a really nice one! (945 views)
Tasted by MattMauldin on 4/17/2016: Chateauneuf-Du-Pape domaine visits: Tasted at the domaine. Aromas of lilac, melon and mineral. Melon fruit on the palate, with hints of raspberry, mineral, white pepper and spice. Silky and bright, lingering finish. Very nicely done. (1557 views)
Tasted by Philippe_C on 1/23/2016 & rated 87 points: Nose is a bit closed, hint of greenness… sous-bois, red berries, tannins a bit present. (1074 views)
