Earthy and farmyard aromas dominate, with hints of wet dog, and wet wool that slowly reveal custard apples, Gala apples and nuts.
Medium-weight, the wine is chalky with a dried apple pith texture. It feels lighter than expected, with a crisp-ish acidity, resembling biting into a slightly floury apple. The finish is relatively short. I drink alot of Foreau, so I'm used to a more aged, richer syles of Vouvray sparkling. This is very precise, mineral driven, but lacks the complesity of the Foreau offerings. It is still quite enjoyable, but I perfer Foreau, for around the same price. I will stick with the still wines from Huet.
