Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 5/22/2019: Its all Grenache Blanc. Peachy and punchy. Its big. At $80 its not so much. (827 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 5/22/2019: By the glass off the list at Bistro 218 in Birmingham. It's a totally fine wine, but didn't really stand out to me. I usually like Grenache Blanc and appreciate the lighter style but this came across as a bit less flavorful and interesting. For the price point there are white rhones that I like better. (904 views)
Tasted by ADB22 on 7/14/2018 & rated 90 points: Good not remarkable. Don’t buy again (937 views)
Tasted by srh on 2/24/2018: Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 02/23/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): “100% Grenache Blanc; After pressing & settling, vinification is carried out in thermo-regulated, s/s vats. Aging is carried out in vats on the fine lees with malo blocked. 2,000 cases bottled 1/1/16 & released 5/1/16.” 150 cases imported.

N: Potentially earthy, but tough to parse; Intensity lurking?

P: MF, poss Med, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish "frt" met by an ALMOST astringent acidity that init gains strength before slowly, fairly seamlessly morphing into a very LONG, difficult to describe finish with elements of MANY things (minerals, tanginess, bitterness, honey) somehow in harmony! IMPRESSIVE, my EXC-/EXC, which may actually be on the low side. [FYI, I've *no* idea WHEN (or for how long) to drink it!] 92 pts WS (Molesworth, 11/15/16), 91 Vinous (Raynolds, 6/17/17), 15.5/20 Bettane et Desseauve, & 3*(*)/5 drinkrhone.com (10/’17). [As of late Feb '20, wine-searcher still shows 2 sources @ $53.39 & $100]. (688 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 4/5/2017 & rated 88 points: Visit to the Chapoutier shop in Tain, Hermitage, France: 100% Grenache Blanc. In the bouquet flowers and white fruits. On the palate white fruits, anise, fresh acidity and pleasant bitterness. Nice wine. (1570 views)

"As I have written many times in the past, the sweet spot for drinking Châteauneuf du Papes is usually the first 5-6 years after the vintage. Then they seem to go through an adolescent, awkward, and sometimes dormant stage, only to re-emerge around year 10-12, where the majority of wines are often fully mature. The best of them will continue to hold on to life (but rarely improving) beyond 15-20 years. It is only the exceptional Châteauneuf du Papes that will evolve for 20-25+ years, and those are indeed a rarity. However, things may be improving dramatically in terms of the longevity of Châteauneuf du Pape, although Grenache-dominated wines, the vast majority of wines produced in the appellation, are wines that do not have the polyphenol (extract and tannin) content of top Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, or Syrah-based wines. Nevertheless, the younger generation in Châteauneuf du Pape has taken seriously the farming in the vineyards. There are more organic and biodynamically run vineyards here than in any other appellation of France. The yields, which were already low, are even lower today (20-35 hectoliters per hectare), and of course, the proliferation of top luxury and/or old-vine cuvées gives a significant boost to the number of wines that will evolve past 25 or 30 years. The advantage of these wines is their broad window of drinkability." - Robert Parker
