Tasted by Thad on 10/7/2023: Still together can last a while, even at 13.9 it has big fruit.
Not my cup of tea , well made for the style.
If you got it drink it, people will like it (314 views)
Tasted by RichD2 on 7/3/2022 & rated 89 points: Dark red maroonish color. Nose of blackberry, earth, and sweetness. Medium to full-bodied. Interesting palate, blackberry somewhat over ripe fruit, integrated tannins. Good finish. Not a huge fan of this bottle. (972 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 2/16/2022: Last of 5 bottles purchased in 2019.

Dark red color. On nose, cassis, sweet dark cherry, mint and a touch of tobacco. Palate was similar. Medium body, medium acidity, integrated tannins that are completely integrated - long finish. Well-made bottle of wine. 92+ (833 views)
Tasted by Thad on 1/19/2021: From Memory
Nice wine, shows more Sonoma fruit, more earth and herb but finishes a little sweet. (1622 views)
Tasted by stevemar on 1/2/2021 & rated 90 points: Dark purple, long legs, dark fruits, light oak on nose. Plums, black cherry, licorice, leather, oak, vanilla, light smoke. Medium tannins. Medium to full body with silky mouthfeel. Pop n pour with aerator - could have used a decant. (1166 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 12/21/2020: 92+/- - consistent with my prior notes. Really enjoyed -with or without food. (1060 views)
Tasted by pinoteer on 11/26/2020 & rated 90 points: More air time helps. Lots of acidity and cedar to go with the black cherry, cassis, and licorice. Better with food than by itself. Should improve in a couple more years. Easily 5-7 years of life yet when it softens a little more. (768 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 10/4/2020: consistent with my prior notes - very enjoyable and nice complexity. 91-92 range. (928 views)
Tasted by davidspieker on 9/24/2020 & rated 90 points: Dark red color with minimal sediment. Rich, chalky dark cherry flavors with juicy cherry on the finish. Smooth and good with or without food. (425 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 2/29/2020: PNP. Dark red color with no apparent sediment. On nose, red fruit, cassis and sweet tobacco. On palate, medium body / acids/ tannins and a long silky finish. Flavor profile on nose was similar to palate - I really enjoyed this. 92+/- (1267 views)
Tasted by PT insurgent on 2/21/2020: Nice wine. Good structure, ripe fruits, woody, cedar tobacco notes. Very drinkable, not hugely complex. (864 views)
Tasted by redz on 2/18/2020 & rated 90 points: Gave it a good 4 hr decant, which seems to be a good idea with PAX wines. A little tart initially, with sour cherry core opening up. not sure where it will go from here. (852 views)
Tasted by Danthejuiceman on 11/15/2019: Opened up after an hour. Iron, black fruit, earth, forest floor and acid.
Not over the top is a strong point. Years of life left. I like it. (1294 views)
Tasted by SMHalps on 11/10/2019 & rated 90 points: Nice Cab for what I paid for it. One more bottle left. I plan on drinking the final bottle within 6 months. It doesn't feel like it has the structure for much more aging. (1069 views)
Tasted by T.E.D. on 10/9/2019 & rated 91 points: I thought this was pretty good for a Cali cab at under $40. Nice cab fruit with spice box, some mountain forest, herb, graphite and mellow cassis and black fruit. As noted by others medium body for CA and not over the top. Finish is a bit weak. (862 views)
Tasted by rjm_va on 9/29/2019 & rated 92 points: everything a big cab strives for. Perhaps some time will soften even more to really push this up but delicious as it is (805 views)
Tasted by joraesque on 5/27/2019 & rated 89 points: At the light end of medium-bodied, with very high acid. (1297 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 5/14/2019 & rated 92 points: Can't find my notes. I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Great California fruit with real structure. Medium body / acidity / tannins and long finish. Great Garagiste purchase. Should have bought more. This should continue to age well for 5+ years easy. 92-93 range. (1002 views)
Tasted by ddingley on 4/1/2019 & rated 92 points: Really a lovely medium bodied Cab with a smoky fruit and silky finish (1200 views)
Tasted by rjm_va on 1/12/2019 & rated 92 points: Very much a Sonoma cab and everything that makes them great. Deep, Smokey and oaky. Really good. (1256 views)
Tasted by joraesque on 12/7/2018 & rated 90 points: Solid, but it starts breaking down after one hour. And the thin wax capsule is such that small pieces from it end up in your glass. Disappointing thus. 13.9% ABV. (1288 views)
Tasted by WyoWino on 11/29/2018 & rated 91 points: A very nice wine. Decanted for two hours before dinner. It paired well with the tri-tip. Started with essences of dark cherry, star anise and slight hints of cacaco on the backend. It starts and finishes very smooth. Only downside to the wine is the finish does not last. (1043 views)
Tasted by twither on 5/14/2018 & rated 91 points: Not sure about this one. Good for several hours, then fades fast. (2532 views)
Tasted by mkoss on 3/22/2018 & rated 91 points: A bit of a fruit bomb at this point. Has soft tannins and some balancing acidity. Easy to drink now but hopefully will mellow with more time. A lovely wine. (2280 views)

2012 Agharta Wines Cabernet Sauvignon White Label Mountain Terraces Vineyard

Ripe black berries, cassis, tar, white flowers & crème de mure dominate the aromas of this overtly aromatic Cabernet Sauvignon. The Richly textured concentration is evidence of the shallow Rhyolite soils and meticulous farming, while the supple tannins reveal the intensity of the slope. This impressive wine is complete with gorgeous fruit that is extremely fresh and vibrant from this windy perch. Long and textured, this Cab will certainly improve in your cellar, but is drinking beautifully on release as well.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

Sonoma County

Mendocino County

Sonoma Valley

Sonoma County, California, is one of the most important winegrowing regions in the whole of the United States. Vines have been planted here since the 1850s and, apart from the inevitable hiatus brought about by Prohibition, the county's relationship with wine has been prolific and unbroken.

Viticulturally speaking, Sonoma County is divided into three distinct sections: Sonoma Valley, Northern Sonoma and Sonoma Coast. Each of these has its own AVA title and encompasses several sub-AVAs within its boundaries.
