Clean, full intensity, aromas of brown sugar, candied apples, and maple syrup.
Semi-sweet to sweet, no tannins, med- alcohol, full-bodied almost syrupy, med acidity, wonderful complexity, further tastes of sharp apricots, bananas, mangoes, over-ripe peaches, Turkish delights and a kaleidoscope of petit fours. Wonderful with any pudding, especially the creamy ones. A very special wine drank on a very special occasion. The palate shows an unctous combination of steeley citrus flavors, powerful acidity, a long and clean finish with a blast of sweet green apple skin.
An enjoyable white Bordeaux from a top notch Sauterne producer with a distinct and enjoyable character. At around $12 per bottle, this is a very attractive wine. I think it will drink well over the next 3-4 years. (2891 views) |
