| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.1 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 19 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Blacksmith450 on 11/5/2023 & rated 89 points: Nez et bouche sur les fruits cuits, prunes principalement. A maturité. (169 views) | | Tasted by PSPatrick on 6/29/2020 & rated 91 points: A blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and others varietals sourced from the Quinta de Nápoles and Vale do Pinhão vineyards. Fermented in stainless steel vats, malolactic fermentation and aging for 18 to 20 months in small French oak barrels. Only 12.5% ABV.
Medium ruby colour. Lovely red fruit notes, some dark berry notes, some chocolate, spices and well-integrated oak, all built around a mineral core, with lively acidity, ultra-fine tannin, a creamy texture and very good length. Dry (not drying) finish. Good concentration. Medium-bodied, balanced and quite elegant. Very pretty! Still young. Second bottle of twelve, next in two years. (1568 views) | | Tasted by hitechnomad on 5/9/2020 & rated 88 points: Not as good value as its junior sibling Dialog. Well made but lackedperfume or nuance. An off bottle? (1103 views) | | Tasted by Marius Cavasdan on 11/21/2019 & rated 92 points: dark color. Some orange hue. Red cherry nose. Some blueberries. Surprise is on the palate. Same red cherries notes but with a nice tension. Tannins and acidity in balance. Some savoury stony notes. Finesse. Great balance. Medium to long. Has a long future. Drank better the second day (1283 views) | | Tasted by eric lemieux on 10/5/2019 & rated 90 points: Excellent Q/P****$$$ Très beau Douro. Prometteur! La prochaine en 2020. 88-90 pts (1377 views) | | Tasted by ChateauDutremble on 3/13/2018 & rated 89 points: Not a great vintage: still well done. Black raspberry, blueberry, spices (nutmeg?), violet...very nice aromas. Quite fruity at first followed by dryness and a medium finish. A bit light. The nose is better than the taste. Much better with food. Not sure how the dryness will evolve since the fruit flavours are perfect right now. (1422 views) | | Tasted by PSPatrick on 1/2/2018 & rated 91 points: The wine was medium purple in colour and benefited form aeration. It had a fragrant nose of red fruit and some dark fruit, floral notes, spices and vanilla. On the palate, the wine showed red fruit, creamy cherry and some spice, then a hint of chocolate, followed by blackberry, and finally vanilla on the aftertaste, with good, lively acidity, fine, medium-level tannin and superb length. The medium-bodied wine had good concentration, a good, creamy mouthfeel and was very balanced. Still young, but very pretty! Very good value. (1553 views) | | Tasted by marko2016 on 9/14/2016 & rated 91 points: @Niepoort Wine Lunch: dark ruby color, blackberry, shy vanilla, some smoke, well balanced, shorter fruity aftertaste

| Niepoort Producer website
Portugal ViniPortugal (Associação Interprofissional para a Promoção dos Vinhos Portugueses/Portuguese Wine Trade Association)Douro Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e PortoDouro Port's Not So Sweet Cousin, By Eric Asimov.
