Stoneleigh's basic (yet highly impressive) expression offers powerful aromas of passion fruit, guava, nettle, lime, asparagus, and stony minerality, with more of that minerality leading the way on the palate along with lemon-lime, those great tropical fruit notes, and savoury greenness. It's certainly on the sharp side, as one expects from good-quality New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, with razor-like acidity and texture, but it isn't over the top and it maintains its balance throughout (there's just enough softer fruit to balance the sharpness), with admirable depth and complexity.
