Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 89.3 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by tenor12bucks on 8/13/2017 & rated 91 points: Zippy limey acidity and a good finish. Not overly complex but exceptionally well made and balanced. Drinking beautifully now. (373 views)
Tasted by skurtz on 4/13/2017 & rated 88 points: The nose is floral and herbaceous, but the palate is a one two punch of green fruit followed by a wham of acid on finish. Not harsh, but not well integrated, either. Tasty and easy to drink.

On day 2, softer and more integrated, but also showing a bit more acid. Not sure that this means for long term aging potential but this is showing reasonably well now. (471 views)
Tasted by skurtz on 1/8/2017 & rated 89 points: This is a bone dry but fruit driven riesling with stone fruit, citrus, and an acid finish. Tasted at Moore Bros, NJ, and picked up a few bottles. (434 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
