On the nose- Bright green apple, some lemon, honey, fig, vanilla, citrus, bready notes...This wine is well put together all the flavors work well with a nice bit of acidity in the finish...just a solid bottle of California bubbles (3176 views)

Tasted by The13thGryphon on 8/4/2012 & rated 89 points: Served as the "welcome wine" at a dinner party for eight. Fresh bread dough, citrus, green apples, honey and vanilla. Enough acid to go with food or appetizers, balanced by a richness and some creamy qualities on the finish. Neither overly sweet nor too dry. Nice! (1983 views)
Tasted by Izaac on 7/24/2012 & rated 86 points: bright citrus, granny smith apple, good acidity. Easy drinking, not too dry, not too sweet. Lacks some yeast and funk and dance, but overall very nice drink. (1839 views)
Tasted by iByron on 3/4/2012 & rated 88 points: Pale copper in color with a nice pinot toasty nose. More yeasty and slightly less fruity -- more "Old World' -- than most California sparkling wines. Very well-balanced and a great deal at ~$16. (2973 views)
Tasted by LikesPorts on 1/21/2012 & rated 85 points: Not too sweet / not too dry. My favorite and in the top two of everyone in our group of two champagne samplers at the winery (vs. the Devaux Ranch, Cuvee-M, Cuvee, Demi Sec, etc.) This champagne is balanced enough that it would stand up well to drinking a glass or more without any pairing what-so-ever being necessary. (2613 views)
Tasted by Mark3548 on 1/1/2012 & rated 90 points: Very enjoyable. A lot of citrus and a cranberry-like tartness up front, softer finish. Not much yeast/dough on the palate, but inviting and easy to drink. (2681 views)
Tasted by BigTarheel on 12/28/2011 & rated 89 points: Intense bubble, dry and tangy fruit rounded out with strong toasted notes. Good but lacked a little deliciousness factor. (2437 views)
Tasted by ToniTony on 11/19/2011 & rated 89 points: Very tasty with great depth and structure (2783 views)
Tasted by Bottledrainer on 9/10/2011: No tasting notes available (2939 views)
Tasted by brooklynwine on 8/28/2011 & rated 88 points: Nice bottle as always. No brainer for $17. Crisp, clean, with a bright acidity. A little yeast, green apple, and a decent finish. (2999 views)
Tasted by gajalaa on 7/4/2011 & rated 88 points: good body, yeasty on the nose, and bready on the palate. With some crisp apple and white grape, dry wine with a decent finish. (3136 views)
Tasted by D.Callahan on 5/29/2011 & rated 90 points: Very nice yeasty nose and palate with apple and excellent acidity as well as toast on the palate. Held up very well after sitting in the frig for several days. (3292 views)
Tasted by ToniTony on 5/14/2011 & rated 88 points: great taste with disappointing finish (3164 views)
Tasted by erichbrandt on 2/5/2011 & rated 88 points: Nice Champagne to start the evening with strong Italian cheese and bread. On to the Red. (3470 views)
Tasted by seacub on 1/16/2011 & rated 92 points: Very nice. Yeast on the nose, and very bready on the palate. Definitely accompanied by some acidic crisp apple and white grape, but primarily a dry/toasty wine. Substantial body, and decent finish. This went very well with some high-end pecorino cheese and crostini! Bought this in late '08, but I don't think the shelf is doing this any favors -- I plan on drinking the rest this year. STEWARDS OF THE SOIL
Today, Mumm Napa works with more than fifty growers at each harvest. The variety in our grape sources allows us to make consistent sparkling wine every year. But more than simply the variety, it’s the quality of the fruit the farmers bring to Mumm Napa – a quality that stems from the passion they have for their work.

Many of Mumm Napa growers are multi-generational Napa Valley farmers with a deep-rooted connection to the land.

“At Mumm Napa, we like to work with people who are as passionate about farming as we are about making wine. Heritage is everything to our Growers.”
– Ludovic Dervin.

“This year, 2014, will be my family’s 111th harvest in Napa Valley. No one truly owns the land; we are all just stewards of the soil.”
– Andy Hoxsey, Napa Valley Grower

“Mumm Napa makes a great product that really represents our hard work in the vineyards. It is important to pick the right winery partner to ensure that our great quality fruit is being made into a great quality wine.”
– Gianciarlo Bettinelli, Napa Valley Grower

“We have been grape growing for Mumm Napa for over fifteen years. They appreciate our long-term commitment to the land, and we appreciate their long-term commitment to making quality wine.”
– Julie Nord, Napa Valley Grower

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
