The peachy fruit and freshness feels a touch faded, which exposes the alcohol a bit. There is still enough tension and mineral energy to make it enjoyable, however. Sweet spices and warmed nuts add complexity to the rich and creamy body, and the wine finishes with good mineral resonance. (307 views) | | Tasted by BURGHen Boy on 9/7/2020 & rated 91 points: Deep yellow color. Ripe pear on the initial draw, layers in some citrus and finishes long. A full bodied offering with a oh so slight hint of vanilla that adds a nice touch. (359 views) | | Tasted by ashikoh on 7/2/2019 & rated 90 points: medium golden yellow; muted, lemon zest, wet stone; saline, stone fruit; medium bodied, good acid backbone, 14.1% ABV; sourced from vineyard on bluff 5 miles from Pacific Ocean, whole cluster pressed and fermented in seasoned French oak, made by owner/winemaker Kurt Beitler, grandson of Charlie Wagner and nephew of Chuck Wagner co-founders of Caymus Vineyards; $45 (581 views) | | Tasted by canan on 7/27/2018 & rated 90 points: Lovely lemon flavors with a buttery note to it. Has a good acidity but could use a little bit more. Otherwise an nice wine that drinks very nicely. (770 views) | | Tasted by S1 on 6/29/2018: Great acidic backbone with lemon zest, wet stone, lots of minerality across the middle, and a wonderful stone fruit finish which adds complexity. It reminds me of a ripe Chablis 1er in all of the best ways. (791 views) | | Tasted by brigcampbell on 2/20/2017: Falltacular 2016; 2/18/2017-2/20/2017 (FMIII in the OC): Wow, this looks like an older chardonnay. Has a really brass color to it. Huge salinity underlying the palate, even shows on the nose. Touch of butter and baked red apples. Medium plus acidity. This is a winner. (1466 views) |
| Bohème Wines Producer WebsiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountySonoma Coast * Sonoma Coast AVA (Wikipedia) * Sonoma Coast AVA (Wine Institue) |
