Tasted by Winojunko on 11/6/2023 & rated 85 points: My first of 4 bottles. Fruit faded quickly from the first sip resolving to a watery almost fruitless glass of wine in just minutes. This wine has been cellared at 55 since purchase. I would drink amongst a group of 3 or 4 in a mature wine type glass to hold the fading fruit. Based on this one bottle it appear past its prime.  Tasted by ddingley on 8/29/2023 & rated 90 points: This was still fresh and vibrant, although a light bodied Pinot which made it a very good accompaniment to earthy but lighter food. (308 views)
Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 7/27/2023 & rated 91 points: Great aromatics on the nose (smells so yummy I don't even want to drink it!!) at 13 yrs beginning to brown around the edges, light/medium color. On the palate, it's balanced and smooth with a savory bent (as opposed to a strawberry/raspberry) but enough fruit to tie it all together. Wonderful bottle. Drink up, I think it's about as ready as it ever will be.

And no, I didn't realize that these guys made a Pinot either! Go figure. (271 views)
Tasted by kend707 on 4/20/2021 & rated 88 points: Light and fruitful. Represents the Pinot Noir grape well. (1385 views)
Tasted by Francophile on 3/27/2021 & rated 91 points: A very smooth Pinot Noir (1255 views)
Tasted by pinoteer on 3/3/2021 & rated 90 points: Nice Burgundian-style PN, but probably not price appropriate. Medium- tannins, with good acidity, plus earthy, mushroom, and cherry pit flavors. Weak-ish finish. Good with grilled salmon and other lighter fare. Probably wouldn't hold up to a full-throttle steak. (1227 views)
Tasted by pinoteer on 6/12/2020 & rated 90 points: Very Burgundian in style, which is fine by me. Nice cherry and cherry pits with mushroom, dirt, and funk aspects. Good acidity (for food) and resolved tannins. Hard to say whether this is price appropriate, as similar quality Burgundy is so overpriced. I've had village level Burgs, and 1er cru Burgs, at this price point, so the wine is probably Burgundy in both style and pricing. Hard to score this, knowing that it's Italian masquerading as Burgundy. (1505 views)
Tasted by SMHalps on 3/30/2020 & rated 88 points: Purchased from a bargain bin at a local wine shop. Nothing special, nothing wrong with it either. I drank it over 4 days on Zoom calls. The last day it was oxidized, but before that, it was fine for drinking with friends in front of my computer screen. I don't think I would purchase it again. (1742 views)
Tasted by 1961Vintage on 2/10/2020 & rated 92 points: Very well done. Needs a bit of air then pow! (888 views)
Tasted by brinko99 on 3/23/2019 & rated 91 points: Interesting and fun... Solid structure, grippy but fine tannins, refreshing acids. Slate under linear red fruits and rose. Clean, no brett. (1461 views)
Tasted by jnewman77 on 2/24/2019: Not great; tasted next to a nice Chambolle this seemed more new world on the nose, yet thin on the palate. Would not buy again. (1421 views)
Tasted by bspahn on 2/22/2019 & rated 89 points: Bought on Garagiste as a mystery Pinot. Like others, quite disappointed. for the $40 price tag. Would have been satisfied at $20. Bit funky and lacking in fruit. (1141 views)
Tasted by LoireFan on 2/7/2019 & rated 92 points: Loved, would buy another six or more. (1163 views)
Tasted by Shesmu on 11/18/2018: No nose -- either on open or with 30 min of air. Bland palate over 2 glasses. Rest of the bottle down the drain. Didn't taste corked, just thoroughly unenthusing. Will give my other bottles some time before I open another. (1369 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 10/2/2018 & rated 87 points: Black and red cherry on nose and palate comes across as moderately ripe with faint spice. Good depth here, but not really complete right now. I will hold my other bottle for a few years to see if it achieves better harmony. (1573 views)
Tasted by nectar14 on 8/1/2018: Garagiste mystery buy - and one I'd rather not have bought. Alcohol sticks out and the finish is rather coarse. There are some pleasant and powerful 'tuscan pinot fruit' scents and flavors in there, but the package as a whole is disappointing. (1151 views)
Tasted by jnewman77 on 6/23/2018: I'll be honest I would never have considered buying an Italian pinot noir. I suppose I am a classic type person and I look to Italy for sangiovese, nebbiolo, and the occasional odd grape; pinot noir however I'll pass. This happened to a "mystery" wine on garagiste described as a high quality European pinot noir so I rolled the dice hoping for Burgundy. Such is life. Overall this is not a bad wine. The nose is nice with red fruit, spice, fennel, and just a hint of cola. The palate is ripe, structured, and lacks some energy. I would probably have guessed this blind as a Sonoma Coast pinot noir. Overall I would not buy this again (and still probably won't buy any Italian pinot noir) but it is an interesting wine to try. That being said, I will likely be more careful with mystery purchases as overall this is still a significant disappointment. (1229 views)

This historic estate, which dates to the Middle Ages, was purchased by current owner Giuseppe Mazzocolin's father-in-law, Domenico Poggiali, in 1966. Winemaker Franco Bernabei draws on vines more than 50 years old from three vineyards-Fontalloro in Chianti Classico and the Casalino and Arcidossino vineyards in Chianti Colle Senesi-for this red. Because it straddles two DOCG zones, the wine is classified as Indicazione Geo-grafica Tipica (IGT). After fermentation, it was aged in barriques for 20 months.
