Tasted by cubswinws on 4/25/2024 & rated 93 points: IN a perfect place at the moment. Black fruit with well integrated tannins and oak. (166 views)
Tasted by StefanAkiko on 2/16/2024 & rated 93 points: Fantastic wine!

All levers are in the [on] position. Acidity, intensity, elegance, complexity and length. Blindly, I probably would have mistaken it for a cool climate Syrah of dignity. The aromatics move towards Australia's syrah wines, although gravitating more towards spearmint than anise.

Still very young.

Impressive wine with a higher score in the future. (450 views)
Tasted by kampa on 3/11/2023 & rated 89 points: Dark purple colour. Distinct taste of black fruits (blackberries, blueberries) with hints of smoke and wood. Medium a little bit coarse tannins. Full body (15% alc.). (1570 views)
Tasted by SirJ on 9/17/2022 & rated 96 points: 100% Tempranillo, 70% is on French oak and 30% on American oak. An absolutely wonderful fruit in the form of blackberries, black currants, sour raspberries. Fine minerality, tobacco and autumn leaves. The acidity and tannins are in harmony, it is impossible to say that this wine is 14 years old, incredibly viral and resilient. This vintage will be even better in 5 - 10 years, but are absolutely wonderful to drink right now. Needs about 1 hour in a carafe. (2110 views)
Tasted by mcar20156 on 8/28/2022 & rated 93 points: Big wine, needs 2-3 hours of air. Intense blackcurrant and spice. Some fresh herb. Velvety tannins, well integrated. Just enough acidity to balance the intensity.

Overall really nice wine. Will revisit in a year or two. (1945 views)
Tasted by mianthon on 8/27/2022 & rated 94 points: Drinking well right now but could still cellar longer. Drink or hold. (1880 views)
Tasted by SirJ on 6/12/2022 & rated 97 points: Pintia 2008 may be the best wine I have drunk in a very long time! 100% Tempranillo, 70% is on French oak and 30% on American oak. (1579 views)
Tasted by kfrench150 on 5/6/2022 & rated 94 points: Redemption bottle for the corked one I opened last night! This one had a better cork (came out on 1 piece) and no wet cardboard smell! Deep plummy purple with a bit of ruby on the rim. Still quite deeply coloured and young looking. Concentrated black and red fruits on the nose with some soy sauce, graphite, India ink, black plum and forest floor. Mature and complex aromas! Full bodied, huge fruit extract, high tannins and elevated but balanced alcohol. Similar flavour profile as the nose. Lots of dark black and red fruits, concentrated plum, black mulch, stone dust and pencil lead. Finishes long, mouth coating, dry and grippy from the tannins. Still a bit of a bruiser of a wine! (911 views)
Tasted by kfrench150 on 5/5/2022 flawed bottle: Very soft cork broke in half upon extraction. Not a problem, but the wine itself ended up being corked. Sad. (831 views)
Tasted by Livonietisr on 2/3/2022 & rated 94 points: Dark purple color. Aromas of plums, dark cherry, spices, cassis, leather, smoke, mushrooms. Full bodied, mouth covering juicy sweet blackberries, medium acidity, silky tannins. Very good. (1121 views)
Tasted by Polarper on 8/28/2021 & rated 93 points: Still going strong and drinking beautifully. Mature notes of smokey leather and forest floor while the palate is crispy fresh and silky smooth with a long finish. Wonderful! (1635 views)
Tasted by Misterobit on 8/18/2021: Mature, smooth and delicious. Had a lot of pleasure drinking this bottle. (1609 views)
Tasted by johnnyo on 7/17/2021 & rated 93 points: Delicious wine! (1544 views)
Tasted by Biggsy on 6/3/2021 & rated 93 points: Powerful nose, with aromas of blackcurrant, leather and a touch of oak. Really lovely mouthfeel; medium bodied, it’s powerful with good freshness and the alcohol is not overtly noticeable. The tannins are fine with a chalky texture. The palate is full of juicy blackberry fruit. Long. Fruit all the way through, underpinned by spicy wood. Very good but you have plenty of time we on these. Via Coravin. (1737 views)
Tasted by dortreo on 4/27/2021: Tasted over three nights. Just a wonderful, complex wine with balanced fruit, spices, and a touch of wood. Long finish. A real pleasure. Tastes like it can go on for a few years. (1610 views)
Tasted by Miceri on 4/16/2021 & rated 88 points: Dark clear red; hint of licorice, a bit of tobacco, dark red fruit; rounded somewhat neutral taste, a bit dry tannic ending, nice but somewhat muted; not at its best (1277 views)
Tasted by EMAZurich on 1/30/2021 & rated 94 points: Ein wirklich toller Wein! (1543 views)
Tasted by Vino Vita on 1/27/2021 & rated 94 points: Nose of blue fruit and toasted oak. Blackberries, blackberries, blackberries with menthol and tobacco. What a great mid-palate feel. Full, plush wine. VERY impressed. Did not feel any heat from the 15% alcohol. In summary, a Spanish beauty in it prime. (1393 views)
Tasted by mpricher on 1/3/2021 & rated 90 points: Dry Spanish Red - high quality Toro. More dark berry cherry and dried herbs. Went well with grilled meat and veggies. Was a great first time experience. (1379 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 11/29/2020: Enjoyed more in '17 than now- fruit is slightly baked in style now - blackberry, blackberry jam and charcoal. Nice bottle, but I prefer this wine in it's first 10 years from harvest. 90+/- tonight. (1476 views)
Tasted by SlimShaney on 10/22/2020 & rated 93 points: Drinking so much better than 2 years ago. I remember this being vegetable. No trace of that now.

Medium depth but solid consistently and a nice bit of tannin. (1640 views)
Tasted by TexasBob on 5/21/2020 & rated 91 points: Deep, rich purple-violet color. Deep blueberries laced with spiced raspberries on the nose. Soft, Silky mouth-feel. Rich blue flowers initially that transitions to slightly funky Indian spices and raspberries before settling into blueberries in the lengthy finish. This bottle is very different and much improved from the last bottle I tried. (1870 views)
Tasted by Litt12 on 5/20/2020 & rated 91 points: Seems to have closed down a bit since I last tasted a few years ago. Will try another in 3-5 yrs. (1752 views)
Tasted by lembkes on 5/18/2020 & rated 88 points: medelstor, fatig, mineralisk doft med ceder, grus
smaken fyllig, rel sträv med bra syra. fatig, mineralisk med lite för torr frukt. Vinet kändes trött och obalanserat (1717 views)
Tasted by aknot13 on 5/16/2020 & rated 93 points: Really great but you smell (heat) and taste the massive alcohol so a bit out of balance. (1442 views)

Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
