Community Tasting Notes (average 90.4 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 22 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Vasily on 3/4/2022: Wet evergreen spring forest, cut wood, with mild floral notes, maybe tulips and wild violet. Palate is sour cherry, cranberry, hint of mild spice/cinnamon, mild tannins. Smooth and drinking well. Very slight hint of bricking but plenty of time left. (534 views)
Tasted by Vasily on 1/24/2022 & rated 94 points: Great wine for the price point. Spring Forest, wet leaves, moss, evergreen on nose. Intense dark cherry, pine, mini sweet pepper. Smooth and easy to drink. Not too heavy to pair with the salmon. Finished with assorted Swiss cheeses. (576 views)
Tasted by Vasily on 2/18/2021 & rated 94 points: Woody, earthy, mushroom, moss, wet leaves. Rich and complex with dark cherry, hint of spices, and nice balance. Hard to believe the price point. (1279 views)
Tasted by Westgate Wine Store on 1/20/2021: The best Caburnio to date.

The blend this year is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Alicante Bouschet, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc.

Wild yeast fermented and bottled with neither fining nor filtration. (1391 views)
Tasted by Château de Farmer on 11/20/2020 & rated 88 points: Decent, enjoyable wine with no real flaws, but nothing really of note here. Not much sense of place—could have convinced me this blend was from anywhere. Not going to offend anyone with this, and good value. (1417 views)
Tasted by Kris G on 9/25/2020 & rated 88 points: Not their best vintage, but a very nice effort in the diffcult 2014 vintage. Fresh red fruits that are missing a bit of structure and ripeness but well made and enjoyable. (1224 views)
Tasted by philmtl on 7/18/2020: Correct. Tasted by DavidVeilleux on 6/7/2020: Short (990 views)
Tasted by Vinogan(s) on 3/3/2020 & rated 88 points: Same as my May 2019 note (1262 views)
Tasted by BodegaMateo on 10/29/2019 & rated 93 points: Wow! Very complex and structured. Bold and dark with moderate tannins. Dark fruit nose with a very slight fruit forward. This should pair very well with a robust red pasta sauce, will do so with Egg Plant Parm. The long lasting finish is superb! I seldom rate above 90 ... This wine is fabulous! (1335 views)
Tasted by Kris G on 8/6/2019 & rated 88 points: In the nose a very explosive spiciness and a mix of red and black fruits, smoke and toast. In the mouth we find a prominent acidiy (less attractive than in previous vintages), red berries, cherry, fresh prunes, spices and a reflection of its terroir. Delivering a lighter structured wine than in previous vintages but still a very good effort regarding the difficult vintage. (1399 views)
Tasted by Vasily on 6/10/2019 & rated 93 points: Earthy nose like forest floor. Sour cherry, plum, boysenberry, pine notes on the palate. Very nice. Smooth drinking and not heavy. (1147 views)
Tasted by Vinogan(s) on 5/7/2019 & rated 88 points: Purple color, red and black fruit, smoky touch, acidity, still young, not at the level of previous vintages (1175 views)
Tasted by Vasily on 3/29/2019 & rated 90 points: Very good for the price. Let it air out a bit. Improved over 2-3 hours. Earthy notes. Deep dark fruit. Good food wine. (955 views)
