Tasted by Rwhfly on 2/22/2023 & rated 91 points: Excellent Lots of grip and fruit. I’d buy more. (493 views)

Tasted by MicklethePickle on 8/27/2021 & rated 89 points: Opened last night. Very impressive for $12. Try finding a good Cali zin or primitivo at anywhere near $12. Nice dark red-violet color. Nose has nice sour raspberry fruit. Palate is closer to a classic zin, ripe but restrained in a way not typical for Cali zins, which is a welcome revelation. Lots to like here, especially at the modest price. 4-11-16-8: 89/100. (1692 views)
Tasted by Les Raisins Du Aron on 8/24/2021 & rated 90 points: Very smooth, great sipping wine. Tastes of berries, not at all a fruit bomb, or spicy, like CA Primitivos can be. This is your classic Tuesday wine. I would say it goes with most meals. A drink now wine, no need to save this one. Bought at Costco. (1179 views)
Tasted by Nyrican on 8/12/2021 & rated 91 points: Excellent QPR for Zinfandel. Slightly less jammy than California Zins which I found very attractive. Good balance between acidity and fruit. (1071 views)
Tasted by vino_per_tutti on 7/19/2021 & rated 90 points: Light crimson color. Black and red cherry, tobacco, cedar on the nose. Light and lively on the palate; cherry, cedar and just enough tannins to hold its own with a roasted chicken amatriciana. As expected, great acidity. Flavorful and round on the short finish. Great Costco find @ @12. (1219 views)
Tasted by econnertx on 7/18/2021 & rated 92 points: for the value, this is a steal (epic). very smooth, rich for a table wine. Just very nice
The wine looks inky colored. It smells like forest floor. It tastes like cedar. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. (833 views)
Tasted by Richard123 on 6/11/2021 & rated 90 points: Nice wine -- dry, lighter style, good fruit, would go with pretty much anything. Good QPR under $15. (553 views)
Tasted by phandel on 4/13/2021 & rated 91 points: Really nice! Fun nose, full mouthfeel. (718 views)
Tasted by casaallora on 3/30/2021 & rated 92 points: Decanted 1 hour. Nice tar & leather nose w/well balanced legs. Aroma of eucalyptus, figs & tart cherries. Flavor of tart berries with nice ripe finish, The soft acidity of the wine balanced the acidity in the red sauce with pasta. Very nice wine. (669 views)
Tasted by ElJefeTX on 2/17/2021 & rated 90 points: Primitivo with translucent, medium garnet hue. Nose of stewed cherry, leather and tobacco. Not as full-bodied as most American zins but still good weight and a round mouth feel. Fine grained tannins and moderate acidity provide a nice balance. The palate opens with blackberries and fig while showing more subtle notes of tobacco, vanilla and minerals with a little peppery heat on the finish. (772 views)
Tasted by splavski on 12/21/2020 & rated 91 points: Wine Spectator 90 Rating
Well-balanced and fresh, this medium-bodied red features a thread of ground spice that underscores flavors of crushed black raspberry, cherry, thyme and red licorice. Light tannins sculpt the clean-cut finish. Drink now through 2025 (963 views)
 Tasted by GeoCab on 12/20/2020: 2020 WS, #82, 90

Great QPR, solid 91+, make sure you decant for about an hour, big surprise (847 views)
Tasted by caroleandjay on 10/17/2020 & rated 91 points: 5 person tasting of 6 southern Italy wines. 75 minute decant.
This was the second favorite overall. Clear, medium garnet with medium meniscus. High viscosity/alcohol. Nose of bright red fruit including cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry and cherry, along with vanilla, butter and coffee. Both red fruits and stewed fig on the palate coming together with the oaky vanilla. Med+ body, medium acidity, fine medium tannins with Med+ complexity and length. This won't replace my favorite american Zin but is very drinkable. (804 views)
Tasted by Karine og Jonas on 6/8/2020: Fyldig og god (769 views)
Tasted by pepmi on 5/29/2020 & rated 86 points: Puglia with a silent "g" speaks loudly with its Primitivo grape, a not so quiet varietal. Deep, dark magenta, redolent of blackberry and leather. This wine stands tall among smoked and roasted meats.

Quite round, extending to the far reaches of your mouth and involuntarily lapping across your tongue. With each swallow, one reflects on what sensation one more side-to-side swirl would have brought. For such a simple wine, how can such complex thoughts emerge?

For all this wine has to offer with its mid-palette strength, the absence of as interesting a finish leaves one grasping for more. Catch yourself when these thoughts emerge. Remember that this wine costs just $19 a bottle. Be present and content with what you have in front of you. (725 views)
Tasted by df1962 on 7/17/2019 & rated 90 points: PnD 1/2 bottle. Let air for 30mins.

Clear medium garnet.

Clean medium intensity with aromas of earth blackberry macerated cherry sage and black licorice.

Dry. High alcohol. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium(+) body. Medium(+) intensity with flavours of blackberry sage plum and anise.

Medium(+) finish. Very good. Drink now suitable for further ageing. Needs air. Finishes a bit hot but still an elegant Primitivo. (999 views)
Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 6/1/2019 & rated 88 points: Well balanced and fresh Primitivo, avoiding some of the typical exuberance. Subtle plum and tobacco notes, against a menthol background. Drink over the next 5-10 years. (828 views)
