Tasted by benjamin96 on 4/3/2024 & rated 89 points: Semblable a la Derniere quoiqu’un peu plus expressive (682 views)
Tasted by Cf_robert on 3/10/2024 & rated 88 points: Was in a bad drinking window! Really acidic! Was not drinkable on the first day so we drank it the second day! I will wait ar least 3 years before drinking another one (888 views)
Tasted by tak4 on 3/9/2024 & rated 89 points: Poured from Coravin. I've had these for a while and they are getting nice. Tasting using WSET system:

Appearance: medium garnet
Aromas: moderate aromaticity, red cherry, black licorice, touch of vanilla, tar, black cherry, rose, frangipane, leather, tobacco, seems like it's developing but has some tertiary flavor
Palate: dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, medium alcohol, medium body
Flavors: mirrors nose, more tar, more cherry; medium intensity; medium- finish
Balance - good - 1
Length - fine but not long - 0
Intensity - good, 1/2
Complexity - good, 1/2
Total 2 = good

That said, I like this wine a lot! Really enjoyable, has some tertiary flavors that are coming in nicely, and the price was right. (846 views)
Tasted by Cosmo M. on 1/12/2024 & rated 92 points: Bit muted/flat/tart upon opening. Opened up beatifully after about three hours (in bottle without cork, not decanted). Cherry and cassis, leather, raisin, pepper, a bit of cola. Long finish with velvety tannin. 89/90 upon opening, 92/93+ after a few hours. This should be good for a solid 3-5 more years. (1450 views)
Tasted by DizzyOneCheck on 12/27/2023 & rated 90 points: Last two bottles, very similar to my prior note. Tart cherry, fruit, leather, soil. Was best with an hour+ of air. Good example of lighter side of Brunello, matched well with pizza and enjoyed by all. (1398 views)
Tasted by whd on 12/25/2023: Hilton home (1165 views)
Tasted by Sperls on 12/16/2023 & rated 93 points: From magnum. Great bottle. Still somewhat young and primary. Similar notes to my last 750ml btl. (1108 views)
Tasted by Les Kangas on 10/22/2023 & rated 91 points: I rated this wine a few months ago and stick with my 91 assessment. Gnocchi meal and drank in Reidel Brunello glass. I don’t think it will improve anymore in bottle. I would say drink up, but I’m not a Brunello expert. I did not decant or air after last bottle experience. My second glass of this bottle was not as good as first. (1934 views)
Tasted by Redteeth on 10/20/2023: Took a while to pen up but was a very good food wine once it did. Recommend decanting. (1633 views)
Tasted by iDrum4Wine on 10/3/2023 & rated 94 points: Red ruby hue that opens with potpourri and roasted tomato aromas. Black cherry, leather and sandalwood flavors, dominate the front palette with roasted almond on a lingering finish. A stunning, beautifully balanced BdM. (1761 views)
Tasted by John McCabe on 8/13/2023 & rated 93 points: The first of these I've had from this vintage. This is showing well now - quite a bit of acidity, light on its feet, this is very attractive and nothing awry. Light to medium-bodied, fragrant. Very good value. (2018 views)
Tasted by tourproto on 7/29/2023 & rated 85 points: Very disappointed in my second bottle of this BdM. Decanted for 30 min before drinking and it was just OK. None of the floral notes I recall from my last bottle. Had high hopes for significant improvement on the 2nd night but there was none. Still just a very middling BdM. Nose, mouthfeel and finish were nothing special. It was a flyer for me to try this winemaker. Won’t be buying again in the future. (1806 views)
Tasted by AB16 on 7/11/2023 & rated 92 points: Improving Integrating (1776 views)
Tasted by JB12 on 6/19/2023 & rated 91 points: Coravined a glass. Decent BdM. Cherry flavor is seeming a bit jammy. (1790 views)
Tasted by DizzyOneCheck on 5/29/2023 & rated 91 points: First of four bottles. Beautifully integrated at this point, but still needs time to open - to the point of almost feeling muted or potentially shutdown within the first hour of opening. Wonderfully balanced Brunello that is drinking great now. Agree with others who have recommended giving it a little more time. It was great an hour after opening but as the night wore on it continued to blossom - peppery notes, raspberry and blackberry notes emerged.

Fantastic QPR and good all-around Brunello that should be a crowd pleaser. Will be looking to snag more of the 13. (1732 views)
Tasted by Les Kangas on 5/21/2023 & rated 91 points: Followed guidance of opening before meal was ready and I have to say it was good, but not great. Had with homemade lasagna in Reidel Brunello glass. Sucked the air out of remained in bottle and put in fridge for a few days and finished last night; not much better. Couple more bottles in cellar and look forward to them and see if they improve (1600 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 4/30/2023 & rated 93 points: Decanted for and hour and a half. Aromas of balsamic, cherry, raspberry and tar. Flavors of tar, raspberry, sour cherry and iron. Ends with a 30 second finish with iron and raspberry notes. Might be the best showing for this yet and seems to be coming into it's own. Seems more integrated but not sure this will ever receive the heights of the lofty Wine Spectator score. (1638 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 4/30/2023 & rated 92 points: Dark red with a brown tone. Very funky nose, dried shiitake, salami, tobacco and black cherry nose. Dry earthy, funky cherry flavours and a dry funky finish.

This never seemed unbalanced, small scale BdM like it should be. (1568 views)
Tasted by ppandian on 4/13/2023 & rated 89 points: Chewy tannins, notes of prunes and blackberries. Good structure and long finish. (1664 views)
Tasted by Sperls on 4/10/2023 & rated 93 points: Drinking perfectly now PnP. Chewy dark fruit, some herbs and tar, nice finish. Would have gone straight into another bottle if we had one with us. (1678 views)
Tasted by jschnabel on 2/14/2023 & rated 90 points: It’s tannins are now silky and dusty but it is drinking divinely with our spaghetti and meatball Valentine extravaganza. The nose is field grass and herbs and the palate gets jammy cherry with a cedar finish. (1933 views)
Tasted by pbaek on 2/3/2023: Mediocre to say the least. Pruny nose, just on the edge of being oxidized. Dark fruits, pine, a hint of chocolate on the palate. Plums, brown fruits. Lacks precision. Flabby. Not a fan. (1871 views)
Tasted by Mark van Delft on 12/23/2022 & rated 91 points: Cherry, leather, tobacco leaf, red fruit, cranberry, light to medium body, nice long Sangiovese acidic finish. Better to hold for 3+ years. (1920 views)
Tasted by XK on 12/15/2022 & rated 92 points: Had it with gnocchi and cream sauce. Decanted for half an hour, could have used another 30 minutes though.

The wine is not that fruity, but has more pronounced secondary and tertiary notes of mainly earth and leather. Good acidity, well-balanced.

It will hold up for at least seven to ten more years, while I‘m not sure whether it will improve any further. (2148 views)
Tasted by Dionysusx on 11/14/2022 & rated 95 points: Silky, medium-bodied. Decanted for an hour but it really didn’t need it. I’m glad I waited a few years to enjoy this bottle. Worth every penny in the cellar.
Hints of leather, bright, tart cherry, tobacco with touches of earth on the long finish. One of the best -valued Brunellos out there. (2347 views)

Sangiovese

SANGIOVESE: (Pronounced "sahn-joh-vhe-se").
Sangiovese - Italy's claim to fame, the pride of Tuscany. Traditionally made, the wines are full of cherry fruit, earth, and cedar. It produces Chianti (Classico), Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montepulciano, Montefalco Rosso, and many others. Sangiovese is also the backbone in many of the acclaimed, modern-styled "Super-Tuscans", where it is blended with Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc) and typically aged in French oak barrels, resulting a wine primed for the international market in the style of a typical California cabernet: oaky, high-alcohol, and a ripe, jammy, fruit-forward profile.[16]

Semi-classic grape grown in the Tuscany region of Italy. Used to produce the Chianti and other Tuscan red wines. Has many clonal versions, two of which seem to predominate. The Sangiovese Grosso clone Brunello variety is used for the dark red, traditionally powerful and slow-maturing "Brunello di Montalcino" wine. The other is the Sangiovese Piccolo, also known under the historical synonym name Sangioveto, used for standard Chianti Classico DOC wines. Old vine derived wine is often used in the better versions, needing several years ageing to reach peak. A third clone, Morellino, is used in a popular wine blend with the same name found in the southern part of the province. Recent efforts in California with clones of this variety are very promising, producing medium-bodied reds with rich cherry or plumlike flavors and aromas. Among the available clonal versions are R6 and R7, derived from the Montalcino region of Italy, having average productivity/ripening and producing small berries on medium size clusters. R10 and R24 are well-recommended. R23, listed as deriving from the Emilia-Romagna region, has good vigor with medium-small clusters with earlier ripening. R102 derives from the Montepulciano region and reported to have average vigor with moderate productivity that results in higher sugar levels and good acidity from medium-small berries on medium-small clusters. Has synonym name of Nielluccio where grown in Corsica.
