(266 views) | | Tasted by jdpearse on 2/23/2024 & rated 92 points: PNP. Drinking beautifully. Why wait. Will not inprove and VERY enjoyable. (542 views) | | Tasted by Laz4wine on 9/29/2023 & rated 94 points: Simply delicious balance of fruit, peppery DCV spices, toast, and silky elegance. Even without a decanter and decent stemware this shined with Jack Stack BBQ brisket. (925 views) | | Tasted by tomlee on 9/25/2023 & rated 92 points: Crimson in color. 14.8% ABV. Sublime nose of black fruits, anise and pepper. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Loaded with plush, earthy dark fruits. Black cherry, blackberry, mulberry and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and spicy. The stuffing is here for continued development. Best over the next 2-4 years. (907 views) | | Tasted by agsdlswine on 7/9/2023 & rated 92 points: Excellent Zin that was both elegant & delicious. Drink now & enjoy. (990 views) | | Tasted by Brain Capers on 7/4/2023: Perfect wine for celebrating July 4. Opened an hour before dinner, drinking well, still has a nice future. Went really well with some Merguez sausages, (The French navy transported reinforcements, fought off a British fleet, and protected Washington's forces in Virginia). YUM! (955 views) | | Tasted by dlduchon on 4/8/2023 & rated 90 points: refreshing, tangy zin. The Rafanelli anti Zin style Zin is Zintastic. (1140 views) | | Tasted by agsdlswine on 3/20/2023 & rated 91 points: Drinking very nicely now w/several good years still ahead of it. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of lavender, currants, plums and black berries. Flavors of black raspberries, cherries and boysenberries. Medium to tart acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short term. Perhaps into the medium term. (1142 views) | | Tasted by Brain Capers on 2/6/2023: Another fine bottle of the 2016. In fine form, think it has some time to go. Yum, perfect for pizza mundo. Picture #6. (971 views) | | Tasted by Gr8penut on 2/6/2023 & rated 90 points: Two hours of decanting and was still harsh/Tanic. Overnight in the fridge. Did it some good. (963 views) | | Tasted by jsebiri on 1/16/2023: Really nice easy drinking Zin. I would put this up against many red blends out there on the quality and drinkability scale at the 75$ px point. Might not have the stuffing to be as long lived though. (955 views) | | Tasted by tomlee on 9/30/2022 & rated 94 points: Purple in color 14.8% ABV. Sublime nose of black fruits, anise and baking spices. Medium to full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Bursting with rich, plush fruits. Black cherry, black raspberry, cocoa and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Year in and year out one of the very best Zinfandels from the Dry Creek Valley. Best over the next 2-4 years. (1243 views) | | Tasted by BHP1994 on 8/8/2022 & rated 92 points: ALWAYS delicious. Consistently deliveres the goods. (1411 views) | | Tasted by catlady on 7/21/2022 & rated 92 points: Big bold zin. My last one. Have to get more. (1390 views) | | Tasted by Brain Capers on 7/4/2022: July 4th and pizza mundo, so it’s Rafanelli time. Drinking very well, pure rich CA zin. Just a great bottle of wine! And went great with sourdough pizza. Yum. (1383 views) | | Tasted by wabi47 on 6/28/2022 & rated 91 points: deep and smooth; still in fine shape (1326 views) | | Tasted by catlady on 4/23/2022 & rated 92 points: Big, bold and Yum. Palate - Smooth, fruit forward, Dark Cherries, Raspberries, Plum, Blackberries, At or slightly past it's prime Drink now. Opened up as sat in glass as evening war on, everyone at table, 19 persons, though it was best wine of the evening. (1270 views) | | Tasted by stokeme on 3/5/2022 & rated 93 points: My last bottle is superb tonight. Vibrant, intense red fruit on the nose, well structured, juicy & lithe on the pallet. Good acidity, makes for a long lingering finish. Very well balanced with a bit of vanillin oak in support. No overripe oak jam here. Another statement that Zin can be a world class wine. (1149 views) | | Tasted by ABECellar on 3/5/2022 & rated 92 points: Decanted 1 hr. Outstanding. Slightly floral nose with red fruit on the palette. This wine is definitely at its peak. Drink up! Rafanelli Producer websiteZinfandel ZAP: Zinfandel Advocates & Producers | Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wikipedia-ZinfandelUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyDry Creek Valley Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley | Dry Creek Valley Association | Appellation America | San Francisco Chronicle Article |
