Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/20/2024: Lots of sweet cinnamon toast and richness. And with good cut to it. (156 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/20/2024: Lots of cinnamon toast (160 views)
Tasted by Burgundynick on 4/14/2024 & rated 90 points: Excellent champagne. Citrus, green apples, brioche, pastry. Palate had the same, with a little blossom, nuts, creamy mousse, well worth a look. 90 points (81 views)
Tasted by ploher on 7/24/2022: Incredibly reductive on the nose, almost stinky. Didn't change one bit over quite some time. No real aroma. Quite sweet on the palate, some lemon, otherwise not a lot here. Avoid. 13/20 (701 views)
Tasted by Barolo Raymond on 7/2/2022 & rated 90 points: Dinner with Rob and Alet (Ingen): Fine lemon and strawberry mousse served on a fresh-baked brioche. (722 views)
Tasted by nicktr on 4/24/2022 & rated 92 points: 8 ans très bien champagne d'apéro légère sucrosité (645 views)
Tasted by Umay Ceviker on 4/22/2022 & rated 90 points: Displays a good mix of savoury citrus fruit and toasted brioche. Elegantly textured with fine mousse and a soft, easy-going finish. (490 views)
Tasted by Geijer on 2/5/2021 & rated 89 points: Beatuful hay colour. A soft nose of yellow apples, nougate and citrus. The palet has distinct notes of yellow apples, sunny citrus and nougate. Smoth and creamy bubbles. (1268 views)
Tasted by KB_001 on 12/19/2020 & rated 88 points: Stabil skumpa, skapligt god, viss komplexitet. Personligen saknar jag lite syra och tycker moussen var lite tillbakadragen samt aningen hög beska i eftersmaken. (933 views)
Tasted by Petit Verdork on 8/11/2020 & rated 94 points: See Vivino note (963 views)
Tasted by thewiz on 1/26/2020 & rated 92 points: (Probably disgorged in the early 2000s, base year from early 1990s)
Nice golden yellow colour with lovely nose opening up with a lovely nose showing a wide and broad nose of butterscotch and Mazarin with extended time in the glass and also showing some tarragon and a touch of vanilla oak. Palate with candied orange zest and a touch of dark chocolate bitterness on the finish that stands out in a positive way. Surprised to its youthfulness and should reward further cellaring for sure. (1100 views)
Tasted by scyrene on 11/29/2016 & rated 86 points: Very pale. Dumb nose. Pleasant enough taste, but little interest. Lemon, cream - moderate acidity. Drinkable but a little overpriced. [Composite(!) cork + cage; 12% abv; Oddbins, on offer at £25]. (2705 views)
Tasted by NickBurwood on 2/14/2016 & rated 91 points: Last of my current stock - now some 4 years from purchase . Remains packed with white stone fruit, appley nuances with the toasty element, (?enhanced with bottle age), filling the whole out. Gentle bubbles, vinous and full bodied.
Excellent value - will be getting more in in due course. Good on its own, with canapés or plainer fish starters. (2850 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 12/13/2015 & rated 91 points: This was medium rich and vinous with riper apple, apricot notes, a bit soft, reflecting higher dosage. Good style if you prefer softer textured bubbles. Almost 50/50 grapes, 11 g/l. Cool bottle too. 90+ (3079 views)
Tasted by NickBurwood on 9/27/2015 & rated 91 points: Son's birthday dinner (one day early!) with family.
Three bottles consumed with canapés confirming why this full, toasty, almost frothy champagne, as per earlier notes, is such a good food fizz.
Excellent. (2877 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 9/27/2015 & rated 92 points: this was really nice, slightly vinous with apple, quince, and bright citrus notes and a great yeasty streak; well-structured, good concentration of flavor, nice moderately long finish.Very classy, much enjoyed this, especially for the price. At Brian's (3133 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 9/14/2015 & rated 91 points: Vinous, rich with caramel, baked apple; good concentration, great character. Shows a little age and slightly toned down effervescence; Really excellent considering price on this. Don't bother with any of the other Canards, just get this. (1826 views)
Tasted by NickBurwood on 4/13/2015 & rated 91 points: Aperitif before going off to Percy Arms for 61st birthday dinner with family.
Shows the full bready white stoned fruit character with gently frothing mousse and a lime zest grip for contrast and balance. Such good value. (1521 views)
Tasted by Racer117 on 12/31/2014 & rated 88 points: There we go, back on form. This bottle is very nice with a smoky leesy nose; lemon and apple flavors with a finish of hard lemon candy. Soft reserved texture. (1628 views)
Tasted by NickBurwood on 12/25/2014 & rated 91 points: Christmas Day afternoon fruit cake.
The weight of this excellent cuvée makes it a good contrasting or complimenting accompaniment for both sweet and savoury morsels.
Rustic excellence and good value. (1507 views)
Tasted by Racer117 on 12/23/2014 & rated 85 points: My oh my I was a generous soul on 05/24/14. This wine is good in the category of pizza and sex (it's all good, some is just a whole lot more gooder than others) but it doesn't make me say wow. Pale straw color and moderately effervescent; aromatics of bruised apple and toast; simple apple and lemon flavors along with smoke and just a hint of mushroom. Alcohol is definitely not integrated. I like it but there's quite a few other wines I'd prefer. Don't get me wrong, I'm plenty happy to have this bottle in front of me. (1485 views)
Tasted by thelostverse on 8/23/2014 & rated 89 points: Opened by Seaquam at his house prior to dinner with Steve8. Citrus notes with some vanilla and honey. (1911 views)
Tasted by Racer117 on 5/24/2014 & rated 89 points: A nice Champagne and good QPR. There's a nice smoke hint to the citrus aromas. Flavors of apple, minerals, and a good soft texture. This was better with some air and slightly warmer temp. (1993 views)
Tasted by Yme on 3/25/2013 & rated 88 points: 55% Pinot Noir 45% Chardonnay
A - lovely golden colour,
N - moderate(-) intensity, hazelnut, white fruit, spring flowers
P - elegant palate, butter, peach, minerals, lemon, short - moderate length. (3382 views)
Tasted by NickBurwood on 3/9/2013 & rated 91 points: Full bodied and toasty with a tendency towards petillance rather than sparkle. Excellent, although probably not "refined" enough for some peoples' palate.
Charity dinner for Macmillan's so note taking limited. Designed to be drunk on release, so don't hold more than 4-5 years from purchase. (3400 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
