| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.2 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 19 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by sfqwino on 7/25/2020 & rated 90 points: Good weight and power. Apple-pear centred fruits accentuated with metallic minerality. Some mushroom and oak (?) notes as the wine evolves in the glass. Good but somewhat lacking balance and creaminess. (4543 views) | | Tasted by SeaSea on 3/14/2020: Mineral, tart, yellow fruit. Tight. Enjoyed over three days. (1968 views) | | Tasted by drwine2001 on 6/17/2019: Strong scent of citrus. Light, dry, excellent cleansing acidity, bitter citrus, and a strongly stony finish. This hasn't really developed much creaminess since last tasted 18 months ago. (2984 views) | | Tasted by mjdixon on 5/16/2019 & rated 93 points: Classic BdB taste with very strong brioche/butter. Enjoyed this initially but became too strong by end of bottle - maybe a little chemical. Needs much more time to soften?? Similar to Heidsieck Cuvee Rare. (2217 views) | | Tasted by Burgaddict on 5/13/2019 flawed bottle: Corked! (2237 views) | | Tasted by fred o. on 4/14/2019: lot May 2011; disgorged February 2017. Golden color with delicate persistent bead. Nose golden fruit, honey, floral. Palate lemony, some richness, nice acidity, good depth. Strongly mineral. Delightful, versatile with a range of strongly flavored food. 92 pts (1078 views) | | Tasted by ve23 on 10/25/2018 & rated 95 points: 95/100
A great saline and mineral Avizoise Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 2010 by Agrapart & Fils.
Stellar nose of rye bread, dough, brioche, almonds, and honey. Fantastic, neatly balanced palate, salty, yeasty, but very clean and pure.
Dosage 5 g/l, bottled in May 2011, disgorged in November 2016.
What a hell of a wine! I’m loving it. (1336 views) | | Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 8/15/2018: The nose has plenty of citrus chalk and bread. It is a direct and crisp Champagne of good depth and precision. There's strong acid drive and a crisp, minerally finish. (1896 views) | | Tasted by Burgnick on 3/22/2018 & rated 92 points: Good champagne for the money. Dry, mineral, and sharp with bright yellow fruit and lemon peel. Good weight. (1698 views) | | Tasted by LW31 on 2/12/2018: Needs a lot of time. Very structured and tight. Bright lemon. Wait at least 3-4 years before trying again. (1456 views) | | Tasted by nphase on 2/3/2018 & rated 92 points: Bern's Tampa: This bottle could be summed up with one word: tense.
Extremely linear, focused, and nowhere near as generous as the 09. High acid and searing minerality. hints of shortbread on the nose. Was definitely enjoyable as high acid BdB's go, but this will definitely benefit from more time. (1562 views) | | Tasted by drwine2001 on 12/25/2017: An Amazing Christmas Dinner (San Francisco): Light, dry, strict, high acidity. Could be excellent but needs time. Hyper long et persistant. Excellent. (1419 views) | | Tasted by aquacongas on 6/5/2016 & rated 92 points: Normally I prefer his Aviziose compared to Mineral and Venus, but 2010 my favorite is 2010. A nice saltieness, fresh, crispy, citrus, some herbals, a good concentration, balanced (1851 views) |

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.Champagne Grand CruChampagne |
