Tasted by Odedis.Wine.reviews on 7/17/2023 & rated 91 points: This 6 year old Paso Robles Cabernet Franc is drinking very nicely now. Spicy and rich. Fruit forward and dark.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, baked raisins, alcohol, cedar, vanilla, bitter herbs, chocolates, spices, licorice, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

A little hot at the back of the throat, but a nice sipping wine. Tasty, jammy and complex.

Robert Parker 92 points. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

Tasted by gharter on 4/24/2023 & rated 90 points: Part of a large tasting. 65% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot. black cherry, plum, vanilla, leather with some red fruit. Good balance, long finish with some tannin showing up. (1206 views)
Tasted by redz on 1/12/2023 & rated 90 points: Dependable. wine. Tasted a little muddy, might have guessed some syrah involved, but apparently not. Scanning recent reviews, it looks like Justifications may not age very well in general. (1676 views)
Tasted by tmiusa on 1/8/2023 & rated 93 points: Give it 40 minutes to open up after uncorking. Serve warmer than room temperature to bring the fruit to the fore...and you will be rewarded with juicy sweet cherries! It's full-bodied, but not super bold. Great balance of fruit, acid and tannin. The finish is long and smooth. (1272 views)
Tasted by SheilaVino on 1/1/2023 & rated 92 points: Excellent smooth finish (1213 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 11/25/2022 & rated 92 points: Subsequent notes on this wine. Deep, dark garnet in color; essentially opaque. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty notes, herbs, cocoa, olives, spices, espresso, some anise, minerals & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with cocoa, spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of vanilla/oak. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing but has the potential for further development with additional aging. A blend of 65% Cabernet Franc & 35% Merlot. (1315 views)
Tasted by tmiusa on 11/19/2022: It has this tremendously juicy acidity; it begs you to take another sip and another and another. So nice with New York strip steak. Great structure, It’s not flabby at all. That’s why it will go so well with food. Delicious for sipping as well. . (981 views)
Tasted by shaferguy91 on 11/15/2022 & rated 91 points: Splash decanted for 1 hour. (810 views)
Tasted by tmiusa on 11/6/2022 & rated 93 points: This is a beautiful wine. Extremely well made and delicious. Needs 40 minutes to open up. (741 views)
Tasted by thh18731 on 7/27/2022 & rated 91 points: This is a great example of a right bank Bordeaux! It is smooth and long on the finish with strong fruit body and nose. (1046 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 6/25/2022 & rated 91 points: Deep, dark garnet in color; essentially opaque. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty, herbs, cocoa, olives, spices, espresso, anise, minerals & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing but has the potential for further development with additional aging. IMHO, no way this wine rates a mere "70" unless it was an off bottle.  Tasted by BMarsden on 4/1/2022 & rated 90 points: Drank at Tuckers cousin wine night, so solid can’t go wrong but Justin is always jammy. (1165 views)
Tasted by Azar on 2/14/2022 & rated 70 points: 2017 Berries & caramel nose. Creamy caramel palate.
Opening- getting plum nose and palate along with tea. Warm finish. Picked up in the Justin tasting room. A good red that I’d drink again but not keep stocked in my cellar at the $50 or so price point. (Compared to other reds at that price) (1254 views)
Tasted by mark.gularte@gmail.com on 6/14/2021 & rated 91 points: Paired with grilled ribeye and cauliflower steaks, big, with lots of blackberry flavors, full bodied with a long finish. (1642 views)
Tasted by WineDoctors on 3/20/2021 & rated 91 points: Dark/opaque. Color to rim. Massive, fruit-forward/in your face. black cherries/blueberries. Uni-dimensional. (1543 views)

Tasted by Dr. Bee on 12/21/2020 & rated 91 points: BIG WINE! HUGE! Gonna need some time to integrate (1413 views)
Tasted by vesuvius on 8/4/2020: Acidity is a bit harsh but will keep the wine young for years. Pretty fruit in the nose. Medium finish without a lot of complexity. Opens slowly and adds a little mid palate depth, but not a lot. A lot of Cab Franc for my taste, but that’s me. Drinking window for me is 2023-2027. (1602 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
