Tasted by mhuhnke on 12/29/2023: Dinner with Karl & Marilyn (264 views)
Tasted by mitiman2003 on 12/3/2023 & rated 89 points: One of our favorites, always. Zin-dominant blend. Perhaps a bit beyond its prime, as did not express the same edgy quality as other vintages. Still, a very good wine, with a grilled filet mignon. (350 views)
Tasted by duanerb on 11/19/2023 & rated 90 points: Tasted from 1.5L

Moderate+ evolution to tawny rim.

High octane nose with blackberry, espresso, bitter chocolate, vinilla.

This is a brusier with alc showing, but still blanced. Think reserve ruby port.

Not with food, rather friends after the meal as a conversation peice. (303 views)
Tasted by Jmac56 on 6/9/2023 & rated 89 points: Moderate floral nose. Even after several hours wine is very sweet with some chalk- not well balanced. (633 views)
Tasted by vincemcd61 on 3/7/2022: Gift (2139 views)
Tasted by catlady on 12/3/2021 & rated 91 points: Great sipping wine. Wish I had bought more. (2120 views)
Tasted by CurtaVino on 11/27/2021 & rated 89 points: Had with Thanksgiving dinner (traditional dishes). Decanted 1 hour before. No detailed notes, but the decant was worth it, as the nose and flavors opened up nicely. It was a real crowd pleaser (2009 views)
Tasted by jy_wine on 5/10/2021 & rated 93 points: Paired great with braised beef short ribs -drinking well now with great fruit forward profiles (2699 views)
Tasted by Realdoc1 on 4/21/2021 & rated 91 points: This blend is perfect paired with pasta and sauce and spiked with shrimp and crawfish. It’s got to be the 16% Charbono that makes this Zin Blend so good. Named for a winery dog and cherished pet this wine is a real value and never disappoints. (2526 views)
Tasted by vincemcd61 on 3/3/2021 & rated 92 points: Delicious. Had with Moroccan lamb stew with chick peas (1847 views)
Tasted by rmcnees on 2/13/2021 & rated 92 points: Bordering on what one might call a 'fruit-bomb"! Garnet-purple colored, full bodied, dense sweet ripe black cherry and raspberry and currant fruits with notes of spice, hints of cassis and pepper and vanilla with a long extracted finish.

Tasted by Jwmumm on 2/6/2021 & rated 93 points: Such a great blend. One of our favorites for sure. (1746 views)
Tasted by vincemcd61 on 1/27/2021 & rated 92 points: Had with leftover NY Times harissa bolognese (1286 views)
Tasted by Jmac56 on 1/17/2021 & rated 92 points: Musky fruity nose. Big, jammy, chalky, a bit sweet but an excellent wine. (1295 views)
Tasted by VinoRosso on 9/9/2020 & rated 92 points: Had with lamb. Wonderful. (1873 views)
Tasted by moega on 8/24/2020 & rated 91 points: This was notably better than my last bottle, perhaps a little more time did it well. Opened as a pop-and-pour, did well on night 1 and even better the next day. No evidence of smokiness, and much more in-line with previous vintages and what I've come to expect from this wine. (1741 views)
Tasted by ChipP68 on 5/11/2020 & rated 92 points: The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, raisin, coconut and oak. It tastes like strawberry jam, raisin, toast, espresso, smokey bacon, oak and vanilla. The body is full. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity. (2676 views)
Tasted by Realdoc1 on 5/2/2020 & rated 91 points: This our first sample of the 2017 vintage. It doesn’t disappoint. Smooth and elegant. Paired well with pasta and meat sause. Souts honor! (2440 views)
Tasted by srshane on 4/29/2020 & rated 89 points: Overly fruit forward with a slight after taste. Smoke related?? (2464 views)
Tasted by Buckeyewino on 4/27/2020 & rated 91 points: Really good Zin blend that is drinking very well right now (2038 views)
Tasted by Jwmumm on 4/25/2020 & rated 93 points: So damn good! What an awesome blend. Will buy again and again. Great job Venge (1973 views)
Tasted by SammyD1974 on 4/23/2020 & rated 90 points: Scarlet in color. Dark berries on the nose. Smooth, fruity forward on the palate, definitely zin. Velvet finish, modest in length.

It’s a good pop and pour (1400 views)
Tasted by SWJamRock on 4/19/2020: Awesome (1311 views)
Tasted by SWJamRock on 4/19/2020 & rated 91 points: Delicious blend. Drinkable now without much fuss. Very much slanted towards Zinfandel. (1232 views)
Tasted by Croatbag on 4/15/2020 & rated 88 points: Was a bit disappointed because the 2016 is one of my favorites for the price. I like the 2016 much better, this one did not seem to have much flavor at all, and the alcohol seemed much harsher and not as integrated. I have a few more bottles and hopefully that one was just an anomaly, I will update the note if that turns out to be true. First time in my limited experience coming across such a difference in the same wine between 2 vintages. (1352 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
