| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.3 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 7 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by tomlee on 2/19/2023 & rated 92 points: Straw colored. 14.5% ABV. Pretty nose of stone fruits, apple and grass. Medium body with exquisite acidity. A lush mouthfeel that is so appealing and only something the best versions of this variety possess. Pear, green apple, lemon and minerals on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Absolutely sublime paired with a Shrimp Creole. Without question, one of the very best California Sauvignon Blancs. Best over the next several years. (356 views) | | Tasted by Buckwheet on 7/23/2022 & rated 93 points: Outstanding California SB! Definitely one of the best I have had. I think it is still young and wish I had cellared another couple years. I think it has another 5-6 years minimum left. Juicy and delicious with great acidity. (352 views) | | Tasted by rosenst1 on 4/22/2022 & rated 92 points: PnP. Pale greenish gold. Class SB nose and flavors; not as well integrated as a 2016 drunk a few weeks ago but will be wonderful; already very good. (426 views) | | Tasted by seijaro on 1/12/2021 & rated 92 points: I like it although I could not identify a taste component if my life depended on it. I have fond memories of the first Sauvignon Blanc I ever had at their tasting room, it knocked me out and started a life-long love of the grape. This is not that great, but is enjoyable except for the $44 price tag. For that price tier I would rather drink Bevan Dry Stack. (884 views) | | Tasted by llink on 3/4/2019: From Rochioli Offer: These unique wines are from our oldest vineyard on our estate. Planted in 1959, this is one of the oldest known Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in California. With a production of only 2.4 tons per acre this is a focused and concentrated wine. Aromas of passion fruit and citrus with expressive mineral qualities combine with a very rich mouth feel and firm acidity. This wine has surprising aging potential. One hundred twenty two cases were bottled.-$48 (1264 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyRussian River Valley Russian River Valley Winegrowers Association | Wikipedia |
