Tasted by Martin_G on 3/6/2024 & rated 89 points: Merely Ok, came across as somewhat generic liquorice juice. Dont think it was flawed. Ill try to hold it and see what happens. (739 views)
Tasted by TooManyBottles19 on 2/18/2024 & rated 89 points: Drinking nicely but I suspect a few more years will soften up the tannins a bit more. (642 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 12/25/2023 & rated 89 points: OK. Good but nothing special (858 views)
Tasted by TooManyBottles19 on 5/1/2023: Wine is drinking nicely now. Nice example of a Vino Nobile. (1593 views)
Tasted by Sebastian80 on 3/26/2023 & rated 92 points: Drinks very well now. Almost getting some of those dried mulberry notes found in Brunellos. Will probably improve further. (1740 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 2/21/2023 & rated 92 points: Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow": Vino Nobili di Montepulciano (@ The factory by JdB): In the bouquet red and dark berries, herbs and spices and a bit rustic. On the palate juicy dark berries, good acidity and round tannin. Bordeaux style and beautiful. Elegant wine and I really like it. (1801 views)
Tasted by Hallvard91 on 1/22/2023: Tasted June 21, too long ago to remember exactly. Decent (1670 views)
Tasted by asgerG on 11/17/2022 & rated 87 points: D1h. Boring international pleaser. What a disappointment, totally void of Vino Nobile character (1619 views)
Tasted by NavyVet6874 on 10/22/2022 & rated 88 points: Light-bodied and easy drinking. Clear ruby and moderate nose with light acidity. (1242 views)
Tasted by VinoRosso on 9/29/2022 & rated 92 points: Good stuff! (1325 views)
Tasted by cgrimes on 9/27/2022: Dark red to purple almost opaque. Nose of dark briary fruits, licorice, minerals. Palate of blackberry, dark cherry, licorice, minerals with dense but not unpleasant tannins. Drank from 375ml with no decant. Very nice with a pasta dish. (1352 views)
Tasted by DougLee on 9/19/2022 & rated 89 points: Garnet color. Nose of dried cherry, leather, earth, holiday spices. Layers of austere cherry, plum, earth, and leather on the palate. Moderate acidity and firm tannin. Moderately long finish of earthy red fruit. Great with chicken pesto over penne. Probably would benefit from further aging as it seemed youthful. From a 375 ml bottle, consumed at Crater Lake NP. (1245 views)
Tasted by kabert on 9/4/2022 & rated 91 points: This bottle had a touch less cherry fruit and more acidity than prior bottles but it’s still very enjoyable and food-friendly. (This is one of my buy-it-by-the-case wines.) (1206 views)
Tasted by MaJeKu on 7/29/2022 & rated 87 points: Siehe letzte Notiz vom 4.4.2021, diesmal ohne Kork und ohne Loch am Gaumen. (1240 views)
Tasted by Steve Greenhouse on 6/12/2022: Ancora piuttosto chiuso; tutto sommato vino corretto e territoriale ma privo di grandi sussulti. (1506 views)
Tasted by kabert on 2/1/2022 & rated 92 points: Yet another delicious bottle to confirm this wine’s place as perhaps my top go-to house-red. No hard edges, no alcohol “heat,” reasonably full bodied, and just such balanced and tasty red fruit! I came across some 2015s in a wine shop a few months ago and bought all they had, but these 2016s are at least as good IMO. (2224 views)
Tasted by Slics on 1/23/2022 & rated 91 points: Could use a couple years or a good decant but drinking well. Good value. (1996 views)
Tasted by Rossdhu House on 1/12/2022 & rated 88 points: Consistent with other notes, drinking well now could certainly edge a few more years and be just fine. Even better on day two. Very good QPR. (1978 views)
Tasted by DougLee on 10/14/2021 & rated 89 points: Red fruited and freshly sweet on the palate with elements of leather and earth. Crisp acidity and youngish tannin. A hit with pasta, pesto, arugula and shreds of chicken. From a 375. In Dolan Springs, AZ. (2459 views)
Tasted by kabert on 10/13/2021 & rated 90 points: Give it some air - it unlocks delicious cherry fruit. There’s still acidity and some tannic tightness on the finish but the fruit wrapper softens those otherwise hard edges. This, and the 2015, have been a house-red for me for the last couple years (I rarely enter notes on it in CT) - it’s reliable, tasty, reasonably priced, and goes well with or without food. (2203 views)
On aime! (2765 views)
Tasted by jweedin on 7/31/2021 & rated 90 points: Very good wine. Not memorable. Good with pasta. Did not decant (1154 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 6/26/2021: 4th Saturday Group (R&S's): Double blind. Dark fruit and spice notes in the bouquet. Heightened acidity on the palate. Clay, cedar, currant and red berry flavors. Guessed sangiovese. (R&S) (9224 views)
Tasted by Jshaughn on 6/15/2021 & rated 91 points: Very balanced wine considering the modest pricepoint. Great fruit, tannins and acid. Finish was moderate but overall a wonderful food pairing wine. (2280 views)
Tasted by tedcholl on 4/26/2021 & rated 89 points: My pizza wine from this past weekend and an excellent one. Lots of tasty maraschino cherry, tobacco and dried herbs. (2396 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
