Tasted by JJYoyo on 8/16/2021 & rated 86 points: Fairly fruit forward with average tannin (low for a zin) and lower than average acidity. Cherries, licorice, smoke, some coconut. Too sweet for my tastes. On its own terms, not bad for those who like that sort of thing. Ok if you don’t think too hard about all the really great zins you’ve had.
Score: 86. Relative to expectations: - (674 views)
Tasted by phl103 on 1/3/2021: This is gross - smoky, candied fruit, and vanilla ice cream (792 views)
Tasted by pmsam5@live.com on 12/12/2020 & rated 52 points: Just not an enjoyable wine (756 views)
Tasted by Epicúreo on 5/25/2020 & rated 88 points: Medium body with lots of jammy nuances of blueberry, elderberry, plums, marionberry, violet, cherry Coke, prune, cinnamon and milk chocolate
A little too jammy for my taste. Lacks some of the bold and peppery body I so enjoy in Zins.
Medium finish with mellow tannins and soft acidity.

Tasted by Morgasaurus Rex on 3/4/2020 & rated 85 points: Dry and yummy (727 views)
Tasted by Ltito8080 on 11/10/2019 flawed bottle: Usually this is my go to wine. A bit smoky. Tart cherry. Some leather. But 2017 tastes like mixed berries. Something went wrong. (850 views)
Tasted by jdkrabbe on 10/20/2019 & rated 86 points: Cooked dark fruit. Blackberry jam. Needed a hot second for it to breathe but certainly tasty. American oak, caramel, butterscotch and something along the lines of an herbal note of sweet basil. ~ Bold drink. Medium tannin, medium acid, sweeter at finish than I expected. ~ (77 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
