Tasted by vintage_whine on 5/14/2020: bottle variation, reduced sulfur and lightstuck fruit in one bottle, amazing freshness and purity in the other. remarkable acidity and great strawberry fruit (616 views)
Tasted by macaujames on 10/27/2019 & rated 88 points: An elegant slate infused dry rose with nice depth, good acidity+length. Sipped on the terrace with 20 degree sun. A nice wine to celebrate the end of summer. 12%. (1028 views)
Tasted by srh on 9/7/2019: Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 09/6/19 + 2 Shared, Milton Freewater (Aka: The Rocks) AVA Reds (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): From "the steepest vineyards in the world for P.N.," vines ave 25-35 yrs old; “From steep, south-facing vyds of predominantly weathered slate & greywacke soils, the P.N. grapes are picked by hand & transported to the winery in small boxes, gently processed, with the must being clarified by sedimentation. The cooled & strained fermentation takes place in s/s tanks. After several wks of storage on the lees, the filling takes place after about 6 mos. 12.0% ABV, 8.0 g/L R.S., & 7.6 g/L T.A.”

N: Fragrant minerals & flowers

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (suspect threshold R.S.) counterbalanced by an ALMOST puckerish acidity which QUITE works itself out through the LONG, tangy/swt finish with poss HINTS of raisins. Very nicely done for now & through '21, both as a quaff & with lighter fare. My EXC-/EXC; [This vendor's $20.95 is now $2 < wine-searcher's next lowest.]

Note: Also tasted on 6/1 (2x) & 6/15/18, TNs remarkably consistent. (844 views)
Tasted by nicefish on 8/20/2019 & rated 89 points: Delish, but a little closed down just now. (632 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 8/3/2019 & rated 88 points: Light & distinctive bright rose in color. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of strawberries, watermelon & some citrus notes with overtones of floral & spice notes & minerals. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & vibrant textured, ripe fruit flavors of fresh strawberries, watermelon & tart cranberries with minerals. Lingering dry & crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present. (679 views)
Tasted by srh on 6/15/2019: Rosés (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): From "the steepest vineyards in the world for P.N.," vines ave 25-35 yrs old; “From steep, south-facing vyds of predominantly weathered slate & greywacke soils, the P.N. grapes are picked by hand & transported to the winery in small boxes, gently processed, with the must being clarified by sedimentation. The cooled & strained fermentation takes place in s/s tanks. After several wks of storage on the lees, the filling takes place after about 6 mos. 12.0% ABV, 8.0 g/L R.S., & 7.6 g/L T.A.”

N: ATTRACTIVE flowers atop grapes, poss minerals

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by some init spritzy acidity which evolves into a very LONG, BALANCED finish. For now & likely through '21. QUITE a versatile style! My EXC-/EXC; [This vendor's $20.95 is now $2 < wine-searcher's next lowest.] (651 views)
Tasted by srh on 6/1/2019: Winebar [2 Rosés, 2 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 05/31/19 + 4 Shared Bottles (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): From "the steepest vineyards in the world for P.N.," vines ave 25-35 yrs old; “From steep, south-facing vyds of predominantly weathered slate & greywacke soils, the P.N. grapes are picked by hand & transported to the winery in small boxes, gently processed, with the must being clarified by sedimentation. The cooled & strained fermentation takes place in s/s tanks. After several wks of storage on the lees, the filling takes place after about 6 mos. 12.0% ABV, 8.0 g/L R.S., & 7.6 g/L T.A.”

N: Slightly closed; Straws with notes of minerals; Intensity lurking?

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by an init spritzy acidity & ALMOST a puckerish component as it fairly seamlessly morphs into a LONG, tangy/swt finish with just the right amount of very, VERY slight bitterness to be a +. VERY nicely done for now & through '21! 12.0% ABV; My EXC-/ EXC. [This vendor's $20.95 is $3 < wine-searcher's next lowest.] (619 views)
Tasted by srh on 6/1/2019: Taste Top Wines for June (San Diego Wine Co.): WAY too cold

From "the steepest vineyards in the world for P.N.," vines ave 25-35 yrs old; “From steep, south-facing vyds of predominantly weathered slate & greywacke soils, the P.N. grapes are picked by hand & transported to the winery in small boxes, gently processed, with the must being clarified by sedimentation. The cooled & strained fermentation takes place in s/s tanks. After several wks of storage on the lees, the filling takes place after about 6 mos. 12.0% ABV, 8.0 g/L R.S., & 7.6 g/L T.A.”

N: FRAGRANT minerals & flowers slightly atop grapes

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by a bit of spritzy acidity which turns ALMOST puckerish as it fairly seamlessly transitions into a LONG, tangy/swt finish with just enough very, VERY slight bitterness to be a +. VERY nicely done in a versatile style for now & through '21. 12.0% ABV; My EXC-/EXC. [This vendor's $19.99 is $4 < wine-searcher's next lowest.] (702 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
