Tasted by Rossodio on 4/26/2024 & rated 92 points: The most recent note does this wine justice. Dots all of the i's and crosses all of the t's. Very good straight up the middle vintage Piper. Unclear if this will improve with more time but I was not picking up anything in particular that is waiting to unwind at this point. Solid.

I had 2 glasses. Drank over 1 night.

Tasted by ChinaWineDude on 3/18/2024 & rated 92 points: Yellow hue, lightly roasted almonds, nice citrus, mineral. Delicious without cloying. It's a very generous Champagne that crosses all the t's and dots all the i's. Really can't go wrong here. 92 points. (842 views)

Tasted by pgm on 11/24/2023 & rated 93 points: Really lovely Champagne featuring grilled lemon and apple, good yeasty richness and spice notes. Super enjoyable and accessible but has surprising complexity too. In the early end of a 10+ year drinking window. (1278 views)

Tasted by Gatsbeaner on 9/23/2023 & rated 94 points: Vanilla extract, Brioche, Grass Fed Butter. Flavor is buttered toast and and some honey. Ripe fruit. Really beautiful and an excellent QPR. Will seek out more. Crowd pleaser. (1455 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 8/11/2023 & rated 94 points: Consistent to my last showing. Very fragrant, lush, brioche, fresh, really lots to like here. 94+ (2286 views)
Tasted by mfimiani47 on 6/10/2023 & rated 93 points: This is top tier stuff and is drinking so well for such a young wine. Bright, lemon, brioche all with a bit of power and push on the finish. On day 2 it shows it’s true potential and has far more balance and lift. Love it. Will hunt for more. (1843 views)
Tasted by gmbdds on 5/28/2023 & rated 92 points: Lemon and red apple fruit with subtle spice notes. Good body and acidity. What stood out most was a lingering lemon candy finish. (1799 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 4/23/2023 & rated 91 points: Clear light golden with some vigorous mousse. Really nice nose, brioche, bruised apple, pear and wet stone. A bit of richness up front but not off putting. Nice dry finish.

Mid weight plus. Very good quality. (2190 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 4/20/2023 & rated 94 points: Very good Champagne in the glass here. This is aromatically close to the 2012 Dom and Belle Epoque that I tasted after release but at a very different price point. Like a mini Rare (2012 not released yet). Fragrant, succulent, lots of brioche, citrus notes, confected the growers may say, but hey, if it is that charming, what's not to like. The finish has some bitterness to it and the palate fades faster. This is where you feel that these is not made of the haute couture grapes of madam Leroy but rather your typical 100 HA/HL from Champagne. Very good still. The world is trying to copy Champagne, but until they can make hundreds of thousands of bottles like this - at this quality - they need to keep on trying. 94+ (2535 views)
Tasted by JohnSh on 4/20/2023 & rated 92 points: Brought this to a tasting. It was enjoyed by all. Moderate toasty notes, elegant but with some richness and power, and a lovely creamy texture right at the end of the medium bodied palate. Great balance here. This is in a good spot now, but should last a few years too (A-). (1699 views)
Tasted by kanab ram on 1/29/2023: Fresh, crisp and dry with fine bubbles. Great QPR. (2084 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 1/6/2023 & rated 95 points: Old Guys Lunch @ COV Edina couple days after digging out of 17" snow in Twin Cities & all is good! CV,DM,LI & MA. Lonny's btl. I couldn't get enough of this today. Super balanced w terrific concentration and complexity. There's intensity but its enveloped in lush fruit, minerality and brioche. Thanks Lonny! I had kind of moved on from Piper Heidsieck based on their ubiquitous NV Brut but this btl and a couple recent Cuvee Rares have caught my attention. (2252 views)
Tasted by bordeauxman777 on 1/2/2023 & rated 94 points: Rich and long, better on day 2. Just really lovely! (1736 views)
Tasted by americanstorm on 12/27/2022 & rated 92 points: Nose of green apples with a little toast. Crisp pallet with apples lemon and a little citrus. Good finish and mouthfeel. 91--92 (1649 views)

2012 Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut Millésimé

Piper-Heidsieck Vintage is not a predefined recipe, each vintage and each blend is unique. The blends are selected from upwards of 18 different Premier and Grand Crus. Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims give the structure and the Chardonnay from la Cote des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims expresses the elegance and charm of the vintage.

L190255 PH BRUT MILL12 Disgorged on 07/2018

The Piper-Heidsieck Vintage 2012 immediately delights the palate with its luminous personality. It offers stellar freshness, crisp aromas and the pronounced fruity nuances of Pinot Noir.
While ageing will let it fully express its plush summery temperament, the 2012 vintage already promises both a vibrant and a precise tasty experience.

APPEARANCE
Its golden robe recalls the sun’s glints gleaming over the Mediterranean Sea. The golden, crystalline bubbles of this lush vintage glow in the glass.
NOSE
The initial nose delivers fresh citrus notes of lime or tangerine leaves, reminiscent of a summer on the Mediterranean shores. Its solar accents are then enhanced by warm, smoked notes. A touch of almond then offers a voluptuous, vivid vibrancy
PALATE
Notes of pomegranate and almond open with the expression of a plush texture of smoked tea or freshly harvested honey, the juice of ripe black cherry and blueberries. The long, silky finish is perfect both as a prelude or the accompaniment to a gourmet meal

48 % Chardonnay 52 % Pinot Noir Dosage: 10 g/L

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
