| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.3 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 81 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by clarktoews on 10/27/2023 & rated 91 points: I believe the best value entry level white burgundy out there (1053 views) | | Tasted by DanielAVTL on 4/26/2023 & rated 89 points: A substantial, weighty cuvee, very much in line with Olivier Leflaive style, especially for anyone who's tasted his Meursault's or Auxey Duress'.
On the nose - Garigue, limestone, Reblochon and toasted nuts, definitely more stink and less fruit. Definitely has intrigue, but at times it's a little much and perhaps lacking in balance.
In the mouth - Lush and full with explicit notes of dried fruit, apricot, herbs and honeysuckle. Much better balance on the palate than on the nose, and really quite enjoyable.
Good QPR, and comparable in quality to Leflaive entry level village offerings.
89 points on the night, drink now through 2026. (1816 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 3/21/2023 & rated 88 points: Solid no nonsense bourgogne blanc at a price [that used to be] to die for. No longer quite the value it once was but you are still likely to be getting an excellent bottle for your money. As a house white you really cannot go far wrong here. (1752 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 2/23/2023 & rated 88 points: There is almost no praise high enough for this wine. It screams white burgundy and punches way over its weight. Remember that it is (was) a shade over £10 ib and tell me again that I am talking rubbish. It is *always* completely on point. Excellent on day 2 also, just consistently good wine with a simply stellar QPR. Buy as much as you can of this and the Oncle Vincent, even with the price hikes, you can't go wrong. Grapes from around Puligny in most years (supplemented from the Macon in 2021) and made by the same team in the same place. Bargain. (1918 views) | | Tasted by jmottern on 2/17/2023 & rated 91 points: Tart when first open and then mellowed out after 35 minutes. Almost clear medium-light body wine. Mellon and pear fruit with a slight mineral hint. Beautiful finish. (1838 views) | | Tasted by Hallvard91 on 1/22/2023: Pleasant, not highly complex (1424 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 1/20/2023 & rated 89 points: As solid as ever, but nowhere near as glorious as November's bottle. (816 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 11/22/2022 & rated 92 points: Pale gold. This was a very decent bottle, suprising me by being a lot more Puligny in character than I had previously thought possible, which is obviously a good thing in my book. Immediately shouted out fine white burgundy, and this particular bottle seriously over-delivered versus its still meagre price tag. Les Setilles does not always do this, and mood is perhaps a factor, but this really hit the spot this evening. It was equally good on day 2 after being in the fridge, had lost nothing. (1202 views) | | Tasted by Wallgranger on 11/16/2022 & rated 91 points: Beautiful creamy, lovely body, lemon meringue, dry but hints of rich fruit. (208 views) | | Tasted by jmottern on 11/8/2022 & rated 91 points: Very nice almost clear chardonnay medium body (13%). Floral nose followed by apple and pear fruit with a hint of vanilla. Nice finish. (1006 views) | | Tasted by jmottern on 10/7/2022 & rated 92 points: A beautiful wine once it opens (40 minutes). Pale yellow almost clear medium body wine (13%). Floral nose followed by a nice combination of apple & pear fruit. Very long finish. (1187 views) | | Tasted by jmottern on 9/11/2022 & rated 90 points: Very pleasant medium body (13%) wine. Floral nose. After about 30 minutes to open apple and pear fruit followed by a hint of apricot in the finish. A reliable pleasant wine. (1169 views) | | Tasted by jmottern on 9/11/2022 & rated 90 points: Clear yellow medium body (13%) wine. Floral nose with apple and pear fruit. Pleasant sweet finish. (1110 views) | | Tasted by Janstan on 9/5/2022 & rated 88 points: Same (1069 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 9/4/2022 & rated 87 points: Consistently very good, all Bourgogne elements are present - it is fresh, it has decent green fruit with a citrussy tinge, it is tight and held back without being nervous. Just right for the price. Equally good on day 3 we felt, corked and put in the fridge. Drinking nicely now, but no hurry. (1018 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 7/27/2022 & rated 87 points: Notes as per 26/06, no change. A good daily house white that never disappoints, consistently on point when you need a white burgundy. The price seems to be heading north.... (1191 views) | | Tasted by Janstan on 7/20/2022 & rated 90 points: Went well with mani mahi in a Caribbean rub (1055 views) | | Tasted by ezhyun71 on 7/10/2022: 4 (1089 views) | | Tasted by Janstan on 6/27/2022 & rated 89 points: Went well with Manhattan clam chowder (1231 views) | | Tasted by oenanthe on 6/26/2022 & rated 87 points: Pure and reasonably precise Bourgogne blanc, a touch too much oak at this stage for my liking, it is just a touch creamy. However it is another good daily option, good value, and remarkably consistent given the volume made. Again, this will be a buffer wine I think, and very happy to have this as one of my house whites. (1206 views) | | Tasted by dutchmark on 6/25/2022 & rated 89 points: 239 SEK. Oak is definitely in balance, not over powering at all. Some good acidity, if you are looking for a well priced, well made, food friendly white burgundy I think this is a decent option. Doubt age will do anything for it but will wait a year to open another or so just to see if that oak can get slightly more integrated. (898 views) | | Tasted by FjordogFjell on 5/14/2022 & rated 88 points: Smakt på vinmesse. Sødmefull og rik. 300 NOK (1499 views) | | Tasted by preid on 5/6/2022 & rated 90 points: Pale yellow color. Gentle and nicely integrated oak, grapefruit, butter and citrus. Balanced with medium length. Great value! (331 views) | | Tasted by kristamck on 3/15/2022 & rated 92 points: Delicious. Perfect wine for a patio lunch on a beautiful day. Exactly what one would expect from a decent Bourgogne. (1773 views) | | Tasted by FransS on 2/12/2022 & rated 89 points: Pure, refreshing citrus, a gentle touch of vanilla and wood, as usual tasy and balanced and as usual a perfect P/Q. Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes: * "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons * "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson * "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson
# 2014 Vintage Notes: "We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates
# 2015 Vintage Notes: "Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson
# 2017 Vintage Notes: "Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson
# 2018 Vintage Notes: "The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
