Tasted by Barry'sFault on 2/23/2022 & rated 90 points: Terrific example of how a robust, full-bodied wine doesn't have to taste like Robitussin. (546 views)
Tasted by snarfglk on 12/9/2021 & rated 89 points: not as open as last bottle (635 views)
Tasted by snarfglk on 10/31/2021 & rated 90 points: cannot speak to drinking over multiple days, but very nice wine. Very good QPR. (690 views)
Tasted by fishbone on 7/5/2021: Should be drunk in 1 day (876 views)
Tasted by hckschr40 on 5/15/2021 & rated 90 points: Bright ruby color. The nose is tight upon opening, but Grenache is unmistakable. red cherry and red currant, with darker hues as well.

But the palate veritably explodes with dark Syrah fruit, coffee, pepper and chocolate. Red fruit and blood fill it out. Very good acidity and a nice medium plus finish. (893 views)
Tasted by oakville72 on 5/3/2021 & rated 90 points: This is one impressive, formerly labeled Côtes du Rhône that now has its own AOP. Deep purple hued with a young nose that indicates all stainless (or cement), no oak. Tasting it blind, I would have guessed it a Carignane, given the unmistakable "weedy" character found in that ubiquitous but often stuck-under-the-rug grape. The back label indicates 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah. Still, I find the Grenache subsumed by the more powerful Syrah, if the back label is indeed correct. Despite my questions, it's still a heck of a Cairanne. Tasted twice. (663 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
