Tasted by Kevdog on 6/19/2023: Nice food wine. Enjoyed with peel and eat shrimp overlooking Gulf. (643 views)

Tasted by hlatham33@gmail.com on 2/18/2023 & rated 92 points: A Chardonnay on the classic side it’s oak prominent. Enjoyable (981 views)
Tasted by JoeMe on 1/15/2023 & rated 92 points: A lot going on with this nose here. Apricot, apple, lemon, roasted peanuts, cedar. Really reminded me of my first ever glass of Meursault a few weeks ago. More lemon and apple on the palate, a touch of honey as well. Good acidity, freshness, a little creamy (in a good way). Oak influence very notable, but it’s pleasant and elegant, adding complexity, and in no way disturbing. This got better after 60 minutes in the decanter so air is recommended. 92-93 (737 views)
Tasted by dalemosier on 1/15/2023 & rated 90 points: If I were a fan of buttery oak, I would rate this a lot hgher (786 views)
Tasted by Deegie on 7/30/2022 & rated 91 points: Light and crisp on the nose, with lemon, lime, and green apple. Much fruitier and more expressive on the palate, with ripe citrus and orchard fruit along with white flowers and a bit of toasty sweet vanilla from the French oak. As it opens up, there are some brioche notes from the batonnage. Perfectly balanced and lovely. There’s a good acid structure which keeps it moving across the palate. Really enjoyed this. The only drawback was the fairly short finish. (1343 views)
Tasted by Wwinowillie on 6/3/2022: Very light with a little gold.

It has a very fresh smell, like a lemonade that is lightly carbonated. The citrus almost eclipses the sweetness, in a good way, and there’s a sweet vanilla oak at the back of the nose. Lemon zest and sweet swisher definitely come to mind as well. This is a great smelling Chardonnay that is very light and not overly oaky, very well balanced.

The mouthfeel is light for Chardonnay, and very acidic which leads to an equally crisp long finish that feels a lot like a really acidic carbonated lemonade. I have been puckering up and chewing on the kinda smoky acidic tannins for over a minute.

Super crisp acidic Chardonnay. I almost feel like I’m sucking on a sour lemon head at times. The best way I can describe this is 80-20 citrus-sugar, the sour lemon is overwhelming fairly early and it only continues to get stronger. (1235 views)
Tasted by lbrooks on 4/15/2022 & rated 89 points: A very nice Chardonnay! The nose has light lemon and apple with just a little oak. It’s starts with faint oak and kick of lemon. It just keeps coming with a little apple and oak finish. A good wine light and pleasing (1340 views)
Tasted by Kellig on 4/9/2022 & rated 90 points: Just ok this time. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood. Overly oaked. (1315 views)

Tasted by StaceyK on 11/18/2021 & rated 95 points: Ran out of Jordan Chardonnay and pulled this one out. Amazing. The best. Smooth. Not bitter. I have one more bottle but have to buy more for sure. (1226 views)
Tasted by Miguelvino@yahoo.com on 10/2/2021 & rated 92 points: Very nice Chardonnay. Medium gold. Green apple, pears mild apricot , mild oak at nose and palate. Medium body medium finish. (1474 views)
Tasted by buymoreredsdrinkmorewhites on 9/19/2021: Well made Carneros chardonnay, medium bodied with hints of apple, baked goods some pear with a hint of butterscotch with a short finish. Ok for the style if this is what you are looking for, just not the everyday style i seek out these days. (1161 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 9/2/2021 & rated 87 points: Frank Family's 2019 Carneros Chardonnay was barrel fermented and aged for eight months in French oak (34% new), with complete malolactic conversion allowed. Limpid and light yellow/green in color at this point, it serves up aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, vanilla and baked apple pie. Medium-bodied and with low-to-medium acidity, it cloaks its 14.4% alcohol nicely, but cannot cloak the generous aliquot of buttery oak that is pervasive on the mid-palate and medium-length finish. Although this style has many fans, I am not one of them. Drink now-2024. (1350 views)
Tasted by Fat1Wombat on 8/11/2021 & rated 88 points: Medium to medium deep straw.
Squash, vanilla, poached peach and lemon meringue. Very ripe and heavy.
Sweet fruit & warm. Very rich but not balanced. It's heavy and too much sweetness without the RS.
Commercial appeal but not my style. there's weigh although it's short. (988 views)
Tasted by bjamesclark on 7/16/2021 & rated 90 points: Barrel fermented in 34% new, 33% once and 33% twice-filled
French oak barrels for 8 months. Decanted and served at appropriate temperature.
Aromas show above moderate intensity with scents of lemon-lime, white flowers, apple, pear and white peach that bring in notes of baking spices, vanilla, French oak, custard, butterscotch, chalk and beeswax.
The palate shows full creamy textures and reveals the Malo conversion, and time on the lees. Flavors of crème brûlée, lemon curd, citrus, white peach, orchard blossoms, baking spices, vanilla chantilly cream, chalk and hints of toasted marshmallow and salted butterscotch. The finish is rich but balanced and lingering.
This is a rich, full style. (1137 views)
Tasted by StaceyK on 7/4/2021 & rated 93 points: Light bodied. Smooth. Had it in a restaurant and that week bought some bottles. (704 views)
Tasted by xyc on 5/31/2021 & rated 91 points: Exceptionally fragrant aromas of pear perfume and white flowers. Smooth entrance, delicate essence of fruit, palate filling viscosity, a layer of oak mineral. To me, a unique Chardonnay, I imagine angels sipping it from trumpet lilies. Is this a food wine? Appetizers, salads, a perfect match. Meals? (1147 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 3/24/2021 & rated 91 points: Medium yellow color. Lovely nose of honey, nougat, ginger and chalk dust, over top of yellow apples, orange marmalade. Ripe and plump on the palate with medium+ acidity and a juicy but refined feel. Yellow apples and lemon cake flavors blend well with gingerbread, honey, white tea, and there are this intriguing notes of mineral and hay underneath. Really pretty, vibrant and balanced Chardonnay here. Aged eight months in one-third new French oak. (1252 views)
Tasted by LMArcher on 3/7/2021: Golden robe.
Delicate aromas of pear and fleurs blanches.
On the palate, rounded golden apple and white nectarine. Light body, sophisticated balance, delightful, lingering finish. Finesse. (1039 views)

2019 Frank Family Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros

A Vibrant citrus-led nose delved into nuanced flavors of baked apple, toasted oak, and brioche on the full-bodied palate. The rich mouthfeel is harmonized by a lasting thread of bright acidity that lifts and maintains freshness on the long finish.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

Napa / Sonoma

SONOMA: The Yorkville Highlands AVA, approved in 1998, is located in the southwestern corner of Mendocino County, between Sonoma County's Alexander Valley to the South and Mendocino County!s Anderson Valley to the North. The region is 25 miles long, roughly in the shape of rectangle and bisected by Highway 128 which runs the length of the AVA. The region!s terrain is hilly and forested, with elevations ranging from 1,078 to 2,442 feet above sea level.
The distinguishing features of the Yorkville Highlands AVA are rocky soils with a high gravel content and the climate, which is cooler than Alexander Valley but warmer than Anderson Valley, and significantly cooler at night than the surrounding areas.
