The Loire sweet wine was pale gold in colour, with notes of honey, marmalade, quince and ripe red apples. It opened up gradually over a week of consumption. The mouthfeel was luscious and rather full-bodied, balanced high level of rounded acidity. There were flavours of apricot and honeyed citrus zest in a medium finish.
According to the winery website, it was a blend of Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. The grapes were grown on multiple unspecified plots, and the wine was classified as a humble Vin de France. The alcohol level was at 12%. The residual sugar concentration was 128 grams per litre. (444 views) |
