Blackberry, black cherry, and raspberry. Licorice and black pepper spice. (195 views) | | Tasted by Ozark Guy on 10/22/2023 & rated 88 points: NOSE: Aromas of blackberry jam, white pepper, and some slight hickory and hibiscus. MOUTH: Wild blackberry, gravel, pepper up front. Settled into nice warmth and smoky-sweet finish (almost a bbq note). Opened up nicely over the course of about 30 min. (485 views) | | Tasted by hyetthome on 10/6/2023 & rated 85 points: Nice fuller body Zinfandel. Fruit forward but still has character and structure. Probably due to the addition of Petite Sirah. (467 views) | | Tasted by corkscrews on 8/25/2023 & rated 90 points: A nose of some cherry and spice, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red, with cherry, raspberry, with white pepper on finish, a good QPR. www.winelx.com (580 views) | | Tasted by dpodratsky3 on 7/7/2023 & rated 94 points: One of my fav Zins from DCV. Such an approachable easy drinking wine but with enough backbone to stand up to any meal. The pleasant dark berry notes of merlot and the spice and structure of a syrah. (698 views) | | Tasted by guitar guy on 4/17/2023 & rated 84 points: This wine lacks structure. It is full of primary fruit flavors thar evoke raisin and plums. I generally like dry creek zinfandel. But, this one is just flabby and over ripe. (906 views) | | Tasted by gharter on 3/19/2023 & rated 92 points: Field blend 86% zinfandel, 13% Petitie Sirah, 1% Carignane. this had a very unique nose compared to the others, most likely due to the field blend. Blackberry, anise, underbrush, some red fruits. Similar flavors with a soft finish. Very soft and smooth (796 views) | | Tasted by Stampeder on 3/11/2023 & rated 88 points: Solid Zin for under $20. Not big and jammy. More of a just ripe fruit with some kick on the finish. (653 views) | | Tasted by shamuspk on 1/11/2023 & rated 97 points: Absolutely loved it. Woukd drink daily. Excellent house / weekday wine. (726 views) | | Tasted by vacpl on 12/8/2022 & rated 90 points: Best chilled to lessen the sweetness, with good spice and acidity. (700 views) |
| Dry Creek Vineyard Producer website
Our 200 acres of estate owned vineyards are the foundation for our winery. Fundamentally, the family understands that great wines begin in the vineyard. This philosophy is an ideal marriage for winemaker Bill Knuttel, as he spends most of his time in the vineyard. Each harvest Bill can be found walking vineyards, row by row, to ensure that the grapes are ripening perfectly. Bill’s meticulous approach to vineyard management allows him to use the highest quality grapes for our wines. After all, a wine can only be as good as the fruit in the vineyard. If the fruit is bad there’s a pretty good chance the wine won’t be very good either. Utilizing careful viticultural practices and maintaining long term relationships with growers all contribute to producing our world-class wines.Zinfandel ZAP: Zinfandel Advocates & Producers | Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wikipedia-ZinfandelUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountySonoma CountySonoma Coast |
