I used to like this wine, but I think both the wine and my palate have changed over the years. (90 views) | | Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 4/6/2024 & rated 71 points: Local Wine Shop Tasting (My average score for April went way down) (Bloomington, MN): This stuff is junk. Sweeter style and disjointed wine with candied fruits and a bitter finish. No one like this one. (234 views) | | Tasted by tsdv on 2/26/2024 & rated 84 points: Decent for $12 on clearance. Still a little primary, maybe needs a year. Sort of a crowd pleaser style blend, with a little dose of sangiovese character. (637 views) | | Tasted by kcst1300 on 6/10/2023 & rated 85 points: Sienna has always been a reliable party wine, easy drinking red, no rough edges, light, crowd favorite.
Pnp this vintage and was surprised by the change, heavy, sweet and a little rough. I bot a case and am going to put this one away for 6 months and hope it mellows out. I see the blend now includes PS and the Zin is gone. (614 views) | | Tasted by mydi on 2/22/2023 & rated 83 points: Haven’t tried this wine in a number of years. Was one of my favs. This bottle tasted light and too sweet . Maybe my taste buds gave just changed over the years. Not a fan now. Ps. Looks like the winery removed the zin and added a Petit Syrah to the blend. My note of a 2005 tasting were favorable. Not now. Different wine. (691 views) |
| Ferrari-Carano Producer websiteSangiovese BlendSangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountySonoma CountySonoma Coast |
