Tasted by franinnyc on 4/15/2024 & rated 89 points: Good for price point. But will leave rest a couple of years. (1170 views)
Tasted by dagij on 4/6/2024 & rated 85 points: As noted before: a really pleasurable wine in a modern and quite sweet style for a Chianti. Good with pizza (although it was a bad combination with pizza toppings of n'duja and spicy pepperoni. Drink now without having to high expectancies. (1192 views)
Tasted by gparker777 on 3/14/2024 & rated 93 points: Giving it a few hours of air due to youth and opens up very nicely. Polite pale ruby colour in the glass. Super bright aromas of sweet ripe red fruits - strawberries, cherries, liquorice and vanilla. The palate is fresh with lovely balance and roundness. Long finish with good level of acidity and tannins showing.

Actually kept a second bottle in the fridge after opening and retasted to find it showing even better. (2205 views)
Tasted by Tauro on 2/17/2024 & rated 87 points: Tannins are still very present, haven’t opened up yet.
Cherry, cassis, orange peel, a little menthol aftertaste.
Medium length.
Would suggest leaving it in cellar a couple of years or decant for at least 3 hours.
This wine will become better.

Tasted by splavski on 2/15/2024 & rated 85 points: Valentines dinner. Still little young. (2276 views)
Tasted by davidsa on 1/26/2024 & rated 94 points: This wine has serious potential, but it needs 5/6 years to hit its prime. The nose shows dark cherry, leather, chocolate, warm bread, and a hint of pine. Very fruit driven and pure.
The palate has grippy tannins but very well integrated on with the wine and a very good acidity. The finish is medium + with a chocolatey character. Can't wait to see how it evolves! I'd say it will go to 96pts. (2343 views)
Tasted by UrbanGrill on 1/19/2024 & rated 93 points: For the record, I bought this after watching Konstantin Baum’s review of the Wine Spectator Top 10. I agree with his rating, we liked it a lot and it’s really drinkable already. (2150 views)
Tasted by bubbachumps on 11/30/2023 & rated 93 points: Incredible wine. Notes of cherry, raspberry and a touch of oak on the nose. The texture of this wine is where it shines. Silky smooth, coats the palate, and finishes long. Fantastic! (3270 views)
Tasted by Wine.ape on 11/29/2023 & rated 92 points: Very well made wine. Bit young but ver nice chianti classico. For anyone calling this wine a hype wine?! What? This wine is widely available in Europe for ca.30-40 EUR and is a very Solid QPR. Usually also a crowd pleaser. It seems that being in the Wine Spectator top ten list can sometimes be a little bit of a curse. (2328 views)
Tasted by dagij on 11/16/2023 & rated 88 points: I've done this before: Wine Spectator scores the wine a whopping 95 and places it amongst the 10 top wines of 2023, so I run out and buy a six pack. A bottle is opened quite quickly to assert the quality and I end up -as so many times after following an American advice on European wines - underwhelmed. Deep color for a Chianti reveals a ripe vintage and a good proportion of CS (10%). Sweet nose with hints of that classic sour cherry and warm earth tones, but also with a darker, sweeter black berry scent. Full bodied and sweet attack up front, good acidity on the expanding and somewhat sweet mid-palate. Good concentration and fine length with notes of dark cherry, some mint, dark berries and an earthy tone. Not at all a bad wine but it lacks the precision and tension that characterizes a top notch Chianti. A beauty with pizza, but at this price one should expect a bit more? (2375 views)
Tasted by ayalao3 on 11/16/2023 & rated 93 points: Surpised by the previous two notes. I decanted this for two hours and it was really nice showing. Modern chianti. (2877 views)
Tasted by Barolo Freak on 11/13/2023 & rated 85 points: I purchased this wine for two reasons. One, it was a Wine Spectator ten selection and two, a wine shop near my job had it. The 2020 Antinori Riserva is a mediocre bottle of wine that commands a hefty price tag because of the hype. The wine itself has little personality, and falls into the low end of what Chianti tastes like. There are way better wines to be had at $47 a bottle. (2475 views)
Tasted by Teaky on 11/10/2023: Very perfumed fruit forward and floral nose, flavors are blackberry and black cherry, a bit astringent mouthfeel and a bit tannic, nice acidity, moderately long finish. Decanted for about 2.5 hours and needs done air. Very nice (1577 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 10/15/2023: Blood plum, cherry violets, licorice and cedar. It is savoury with a waxy feel. There's powerful fruit flavours and nice balance. It is a wine of perfume and poise and there's a gentle flex of muscle to the long finish. (2356 views)
Tasted by Martin_G on 10/5/2023 & rated 89 points: I hope this will taste more like Chianti with a few yrs sideways. Not a bad wine, though! (1721 views)
Tasted by mlappe@gmx.de on 9/23/2023: Nice wine (1742 views)
Tasted by buckeye76 on 9/18/2023 & rated 90 points: Opened at a restaurant lacking older vintages, a very young but pleasant food wine which will clearly improve over time. Black cherries in the nose and flavor, not complex, but considering it's age a very smooth medium length finish. Well worth the $40 we paid off the wine list counting the discount they offered (1712 views)
Tasted by amplitt on 8/4/2023 & rated 70 points: Not great. Not bad. Not worth $100 at a restaurant. $50, would be ok. (2454 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 5/18/2023 & rated 91 points: Lovely wine with good balance and long smooth finish. Keep it in cellar for a few more years. (2172 views)
Tasted by Tony T on 4/28/2023 & rated 92 points: Needs more cellar time to reach its full potential. (1865 views)

Producer Location - Tenuta Tignanello (Google Maps)
The Antinori family has produced wine since 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine Winemakers Guild. Throughout its long history (across 26 generations) the family has always managed winemaking in person. Today, the company is managed by Marquis Piero Antinori. The company has dedicated great efforts to improving the quality of its wines, through careful planning of investments and research programs embracing all production aspects. The success of these programs has enabled the company to produce a superb range of quality wines from its various estates in Tuscany and Umbria. The Tignanello Estate is home to the famous Tignanello and Solaia vineyards. Located between the Greve and Pesa Valleys, in the heart of the Chianti Classic area, 30 kilometers south of Florence, Tignanello boasts 350 hectares of land with 147 hectares of vines. The vineyards are divided into small, individual areas over an area of 47 hectares at Tignanello, facing South-West, and the neighboring 10 hectares at Solaia, both with Cabernet and Sangiovese grapes that benefit from specific exposure and micro-climate.

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
