Tasted by davesb on 11/3/2014: Still holding up well. (3730 views)
Tasted by gigmoney on 8/30/2014: Fully resolved. These are beginning their decent.

Not overly complex, but just fine on its own without food.

Drink them now to get the most pleasure. (3694 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 9/7/2013 & rated 90 points: Old & Rare CA Cabs: Smokey with a hint of bell pepper and tobacco; red currant, minty-green aspect and soft leather, soft tannins, a touch of spice in the end, but low tannins/structure. Easy to drink now, nice flavors, pleasant and well made, but probably at its peak. 89-90 (4379 views)
Tasted by tapngrill on 3/13/2013 & rated 88 points: Fruit is all but gone. Drink them if you got them. (5121 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 9/23/2012 & rated 88 points: Plummy, dry cherry, touch of black cherry and a bit herbal; soft mouthfeel, a bit flabby, and a bit hot in the finish. Lacks structure but drinking ok. (5035 views)
Tasted by ms808 on 4/13/2012 & rated 89 points: Had with Easter feast. Purchased the bottle during our honeymoon in napa at the actual winery in 2003.

Good fruit, settled texture, complex, cigar box, maybe some rose pedals. Good time to drink, but don't wait too much longer.

Enjoyed w/ wife and family (2899 views)
Tasted by DHJ1968 on 1/6/2012: From memory - nice mature Cali cab, ready to drink and not at all over the top. Very enjoyable bottle. (2596 views)
Tasted by beezer6 on 1/3/2010 & rated 88 points: Somewhat muted fruit, but nice layers of currant, cigar box and tobacco.
Palate is firm and shows some nice lighter signs of age.
Midpalate is enjoyable. Nice. (2918 views)
Tasted by rpenn77 on 1/4/2009 & rated 92 points: Soft tannins, great nose. Medium finish. Went great with canneloni. (2914 views)
Tasted by cabegirl on 11/18/2008 & rated 88 points: Dark Cherry with lean mouth feel (3316 views)
Tasted by wineaboutit on 11/16/2008 & rated 89 points: Decanted for 1.5 hours. Wine opened up nicely, and had aromas of dark fruits and leather. A full bodied wine, w/some tannins on the back end.. Slightly surprised at this, as last bottle was softer, more balanced. This one could have lied down for a couple more years, but if you have them...drink them. Based on performance of previous bottles, a solid Napa cab. (2657 views)
Tasted by tplskylrk on 10/23/2008 & rated 91 points: Color still holding although it looks like it may just beginning to turn. A light Cabernet purple, Cab fruit on the nose, hint of boysenberry, Solid middle palate coating of sweet dry fruit, nice. Short deeper finish but still nothing persistent except a light fruit linger. Tannins perfect, drink up in 750ml. Not for a rich meal, perfect Pasta & light dishes, even a fish dish.

Getting a bit more complex with time in the glass, everything expanding. One more bottle to benchmark against in a few weeks. (2718 views)
Tasted by wineaboutit on 6/16/2008 & rated 89 points: Popped, and let breath for 3 hours, prior to drinking for Father's Day dinner. Had w/a nice rib eye, twice cooked potatoes and an organic salad. Nose of dark cherry, black currant and leather w/a whiff of tobacco. Refined and restrained, in a bordeaux-like way. An enjoyable wine, in a chalenging vintage. Have a couple more left, will drink soon. (2677 views)
Tasted by rpfarwell on 5/25/2008 & rated 91 points: Concetrated red fruit on nose and taste - tannins well smoothed out. Nice long after taste (2815 views)
Tasted by knelsfk on 5/13/2008 & rated 89 points: Smoke, oak and minerals on the nose, medium to full body; kind of rough when first opened but after several hours tannins mellowed and the wine showed nicely with flavors of licorice, dark berry fruit and herbs; pleasant but quick finish. (2754 views)
Tasted by tplskylrk on 7/30/2007 & rated 90 points: Great example of the district. Ruby color in the glass with nice legs. Earthy, smoky tannins integrated with a nice full dusty fruit lingering palate. Nice nose as well, lasted a couple of hours then began to fade. Drink up. (3262 views)
 Tasted by beezer6 on 3/12/2007 & rated 88 points: 2nd of 4.
Filet in red wine butter sauce.
Long legs. Deep ruby color.
Nose of dark berries, earth and cocoa.
Moderate tannins and alcohol.
Moderate to high acidity. (3510 views)
Tasted by Beachwine on 12/23/2005: Excellent wine. Bordeaux style. Fruity. Can cellar for awhile yet. (4270 views)
Tasted by jmd60611 on 11/4/2005 & rated 90 points: Very tasty, big fruit nicely balanced ver drinkable now but will get better with some time as the tannins are still very pronounced, however mellow (4341 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/13/2003 & rated 86 points: Fresh medium black fruit aromas and flavors, everything well balanced with modest, sweet tannins, resulting in a short, simple finish. (1308 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
