Tasted by Pacmn on 5/7/2018: Very good. (2337 views)
Tasted by yatchisin on 3/20/2018 & rated 89 points: How long can you wait to drink a Juvenile? Evidently pretty long. A bit brickish but still deep red with big plum-violet notes on the nose and then plum and, of course raisin character, 12 years in. Still yummy. (2023 views)
Tasted by mfriedman12 on 12/27/2017 & rated 91 points: This was the last of my 2006 Turleys. Amazingly, this bottle showed no significant signs of decline. Visually, the color was still a deep, dark color with consistency. There was a noticeable lack of big creeping legs as seen in younger Turley Zins. Big nose with less alcohol heat to it. Still popping with big plummy fruit, hints of anise and dark chocolate. Very intense. Hard to say how far past its peak, but this was an excellent wine that easily has two more years (2078 views)
Tasted by dynedain on 12/24/2015 & rated 88 points: Mellow and soft like the last one. On the downslope though so drink it while you have it. (4489 views)
Tasted by dynedain on 3/4/2015 & rated 90 points: Soft and gentle after so much time in the bottle. Very little need to decant. Drink it now while it is at its peak. (5124 views)
Tasted by wa2ofd on 5/21/2014 & rated 89 points: Fast day. Meal replacement wine...1 glass following 00 Charmail...still fruit forward, heat notched down a bit...does not suggest it's at the end of its interesting drinking window (4720 views)
Tasted by jon_goodman1 on 12/4/2013 & rated 91 points: great nose and taste of dark fruits. great balance in the wine. Wish i had more (5214 views)
Tasted by Allman74 on 9/14/2013 & rated 91 points: A little tight upon opening and we did not decant. After about 20 minutes in the glass, it really opened up and smoothed out the edges that were present upon first pour. (5518 views)
Tasted by Feig on 4/10/2013 & rated 89 points: Well rounded and not too old at this stage. Enjoyable. (3944 views)
Tasted by Feig on 3/12/2013 & rated 88 points: hints of fresh cut grass and pencil lead on the nose, boysenberry with long anise finish (3528 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 2/10/2013 & rated 92 points: I do not have a lot of experience with Turley, and I was expecting a big, bombastic Zin. It wasn’t and I was pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of fruit, but in no way over the top. Great balance and complexity, a bit of mocha on the lingering finish. Outstanding. (2929 views)
Tasted by Jtotheptcu on 1/28/2013 & rated 89 points: Held up better than expected. Nice peppery overtones. (2552 views)
Tasted by Colia on 12/21/2012 & rated 89 points: A fading beauty. It lacks the powerful jammy fruit one thinks of when presented by a Turley, but confirms that for all their forward fruit, Turleys age very nicely. Chocolate, raspberry, stewed plums, tobacco, and herbal notes. Less power, more finesse. (2152 views)
Tasted by mfriedman12 on 10/30/2012 & rated 90 points: Another Hurricane Sandy bottle. Still a jammy, fruity wine lots of plum, and chocolate covered raisins. Crowd pleaser (1932 views)
Tasted by wabi47 on 10/20/2012 & rated 86 points: dark currant and some mineral/wood; the fruit is fading/thinner than i recall; drink up. (1927 views)
Tasted by Mrbuzz on 4/9/2012: Easter....drank well. (2757 views)
Tasted by rickspicks on 3/8/2012 & rated 89 points: Nice flavors of dark red fruits with a good dose of bramble and a lot of black pepper. Medium body, soft edges and an acidic bite at the end. Not overdone and with plenty of California zin flavors. (2827 views)
Tasted by rdsboca on 3/4/2012 & rated 87 points: Much better than last experience. Plum, some woodsy bramble and a nice dose of black raspberry. (2876 views)
Tasted by DHJ1968 on 10/25/2011: Enjoyed this very much on a crisp Fall afternoon. Gobs of briary fruit, but little evident oak, ample buoying acidity and, for me, not an undue amount of alcoholic heat. Certainly not complex, but when I want Cali Zin this makes me happy. (3474 views)
Tasted by goldgarf on 9/18/2011 & rated 85 points: A nice jammy wine. Alcohol was not too high. I probably drank this a year too late as it seemed just slightly thin. (3409 views)
Tasted by MFC on 7/19/2011 & rated 88 points: Me thinks this wine is passing it's prime as I type. The nose, upon opening, burst with red fruits and the typical zippy aroma you come to expect from a zin. The palate is unbalanced as the fruit is gone and what is left is a hot medicinal after taste. I've had good mature zins, and I've had this bottle in it's youth which is why I say, my "Juvenile" has grown up to be a bit of a disappointment, but since I know what a good kid he was I can't be too tough on him. Drink up. (3693 views)
Tasted by hanasowner on 6/25/2011 & rated 86 points: Waited too long on this one; past its prime. (3806 views)
Tasted by btock on 5/11/2011 & rated 89 points: This was my fault. Brought to Travail expecting to eat heavy dishes but our tasting menu leaned toward lighter fare so the wine was out of place. Perfectly fine zin, drink now would be my recommendations. Was out of place so I wasn't really focused on the wine. Solid purple coloring and purple fruit profile, well balanced. (4008 views)
Tasted by Trish22 on 4/24/2011 & rated 92 points: Great Turley! This is a cuvee from various Turley vineyard's including Hayne. Lovely, easy to drink. Berry, dusty on nose. Opened and sat for an hour, but not decanted. No heat, despite high alchohol, was one of the best zins at this tasting. Tie with Carlisle Sonoma Valley - screw cap. (4194 views)
Tasted by jthielen on 3/5/2011 & rated 88 points: Lot's of fruit. Not overly complex. A really great simple wine. Hit of cedar and Turley spice. (4472 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
