Tasted by Vino-guy68 on 5/1/2024 & rated 92 points: My rating remains the same, at this point (May 1, 2024), the tannins have resolved nicely and is drinking in its prime. That said I don’t think it has many good years left in it. (211 views)
Tasted by Vino-guy68 on 4/25/2024 & rated 92 points: Drinking really well right now. Tannins have smoothed out and it paired perfectly with grilled kabobs tonight. The 93 rating from WS is spot on at this point. Wonderful value! (266 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 3/12/2024 & rated 92 points: very tasty. Still nice dark fruits on this (525 views)
Tasted by Vegas Bob on 2/8/2024 & rated 93 points: delivers on the 93 rating from wine spectator. A very smooth, pleasant drinking wine.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, cranberry and red currant. It tastes like raspberry and cranberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. (599 views)
Tasted by LT23 on 2/1/2024: Really liked it. Raspberry notes, medium tannins, low acidity, medium finish that is slightly bitter like cranberry. Very smooth, easy drinking. (601 views)
Tasted by Sijan on 1/2/2024 & rated 91 points: Still drinking really well. A rich, full bodied red w/ dark fruit & moderate tannins. Incredible QPR! (659 views)
Tasted by pmarlo on 12/1/2023 & rated 86 points: 12/1/23-Composite cork that helped when removed. Legs are very apparent for this wine. Wasn't the jumilla flavor profile I was expecting, which was thick and dense. This was thinner but I don't mean low level of fruit. Viscosity? First impression is not that impressed. Only had a glass to go with a meal of Italian sausage, as I hoped it would pair well. Vacuum sealed for next day.
Day 2. Tart and has changed. Really sour fruit and nothing like jumilla I've known. Wine has fell together more since yesterday, but still not a wine I like. A sting on the tongue. Sour cherry? Hard to peg this. It doesn't taste like wine. Trying tomorrow but if no improvement, tossing.
I replaced the cork, left on kitchen counter for 2-3 months, and used for cooking pot roast and crock pot Italian sausage. Had high hopes as label advertises a 93 Wine Spectator rating, but not a rebuy here, and can do better. (413 views)
Tasted by Vegas Bob on 11/7/2023 & rated 92 points: Great find. Very smooth Red Blend.
The wine looks violet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cranberry, raspberry and red currant. It tastes like cranberry and raspberry. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. (881 views)
Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 10/9/2023 & rated 88 points: So I found another bottle of this mis-racked in the cellar, theoretically I had had the last bottle a few months ago. Perfect for the lentil dish I made but also a save in terms of aging. Nice wine but time to say good bye if you wanted it at its best. Soft and rich, very mildly rustic. (879 views)
Tasted by cmaximus02 on 10/7/2023 & rated 88 points: Shy nose. Dark fruits show up after about 2 hours decant. Tannins are quite present but smooth. Finish is long and drying. Good qpr but not my favorite. Will follow again tomorrow (641 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 9/10/2023 & rated 91 points: very good. Has softened a bit since we drank a bunch in 2020. Very tasty. Lots of dark fruit (901 views)
Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 9/7/2023 & rated 89 points: Big wine but nicely developed. Bit powerful for the frittata we made but the level of development helped. Nice big wine. Next time I will make a hearty sausage bean dish (728 views)
Tasted by WineNerd76 on 5/22/2023 & rated 93 points: Medium purple in color; black cherries, plums, and a hint of chocolate on the nose; high acidity; moderate, but smooth tannins; a little hot; licorice, stewed prunes, and black pepper on the tongue with a long finish. (1202 views)
Tasted by robseconti@aol.com on 4/15/2023 & rated 90 points: A lot of mocha and chocolate on the nose, along with some hints of raspberries. I’d concur with Candyman’s notes on the palate in that it took a while to develop but after a couple of hours of decant it was perfect with a mixed grill of spicy Italian sausage, Asian marinated chicken and salt and peppered steak tips. Smooth finish. Finished the bottle with some 70% dark chocolate, which was a perfect match. For the cost, a tremendous QPR. (1102 views)
Tasted by LightDancer on 4/4/2023 & rated 89 points: Different profile from Jumilla! Full dark fruit flavors. Better on the second and third night. (1169 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 4/2/2023 & rated 91 points: very good. Nice dark plum fruit. Still alive. Liked it a lot (1035 views)
Tasted by candyman on 3/19/2023: at first thin and green, after 6 hours smoother with light cherry and licorice (1213 views)
Tasted by Wayno the Wino on 3/2/2023 & rated 90 points: Well, I liked it. Maybe there was a little strawberry creme hard candy in there, but it also had good body and weight and silky texture. Not fully my style, but was just right for tonight. (893 views)
Tasted by HB Wines on 2/23/2023: Strong red blend Close to a Cab. Would buy again (842 views)
Tasted by Bobc7had on 2/22/2023 & rated 89 points: Better than I recall. Drinking nicely right now. Great QPR (822 views)
Tasted by OldHick95 on 1/31/2023 & rated 93 points: Brandied black cherries, red roses, finishing with ripe blackberry and a balancing tartness. Round and full in the mouth. Black tea finish. (981 views)
Tasted by DbertCellar on 1/23/2023 & rated 89 points: A very nice dry bottle of wine, went well with pasta. (951 views)
Tasted by whudock on 12/21/2022 & rated 91 points: bottle aging has helped with strong fruit now including apricot coupled with some earth and leather notes. Well balanced, long finish (1090 views)
Tasted by Psdycp on 12/17/2022 & rated 89 points: Deep spicy and earthy notes with mulberries and raspberries, breakfast tea leaves on the nose. Let it sit for a while for the leathery and toasted almond to emerge from the glass. Palate has more of the nutty tea leaves flavours with star anise and savoury herbs in the core. The fruits take a backseat. Almost full-bodied, with some bite and a tight structure. Finish has tons of grippy tannins. This need more time for the tannins to resolve and melt into the elements. Decant for 2 hours if you are drinking now. Laying this down for another 3-5 years should improve its overall texture. 89-91 pts. (1154 views)
Tasted by BSBONO on 11/27/2022 & rated 91 points: Much better than younger bottle last year. Age seems to be good here (1370 views)

Spain

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.

Murcia

Located in Southeastern Spain, the "lost" region of Yecla lies to the east of Jumilla and to the west of Alicante. Fortunately, this region was spared much of the wrath of the phylloxera plague, and many ungrafted and extremely old vines remain. The Yecla region’s progressive leader, Bodegas Castaño, has long been an advocate of the Monastrell varietal, also known as Mourvèdre. The varietal is best regarded for its influence on the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape where the terroir and climate is not dissimilar to that of Yecla. Both benefit from a very warm, Mediterranean climate with warm days and nights.
