| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.6 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 17 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Sam Adam on 12/17/2022 & rated 88 points: Pale gold. Not overly developed nose with camomille, preserved lemon, hay and some white flowers with a (not unpleasant) cheminical touch. Medium- body, medium alcohol, medium acidity, medium finish. Typical almond bitterness on the palate that gives a crisp hint. Wine still very fresh and does not show its age overtly, on the otherhand the palate is slightly lacking in concentration and the finish to short to make a lastig memory. No obvious sighns of decline. Did not buy it my self but advertised price for a magnum of +-120 euros is too expensive. (248 views) | | Tasted by jenniaa on 2/19/2021 & rated 90 points: Mature and with plenty of character. Rich, baked meyer lemon/ tangerine tones, savory herbs integrated with stony, sun-baked minerality. Holding together but unlikely to improve more. Will drink my last bottle of this vintage this year. (725 views) | | Tasted by jenniaa on 8/22/2020 & rated 90 points: Still showing well, though a few years older than I expected to leave it. plenty of verve and flavor. paired very well with two night's meals: slow roasted pork shoulder with carmelized onions, fennel, bacon and figs; mussels in orange basil broth. Bucci is brilliant! (792 views) | | Tasted by Bluespolo on 12/31/2014 & rated 93 points: Gorse flowers, linden, chamomile, mediterranean aromatic herbs, orange blossom honey, peach, hazelnuts, flint. a general sensation of minerality. At palate fresh and silky. very long finish. A classic verdicchio riserva. Can age many more years. (2518 views) | | Tasted by KeithAkers on 7/25/2013 & rated 88 points: Chicago Italian Lovers round 3-2000 Barolos (Sapori Trattoria, Chicago IL): Nose: Light and aromatic nose with tones of oyster shells, lemon curds, minerals, white fruits, and some custard notes as well. There is some depth that is lacking, but the nose is very nice.
Taste: Light bodied with crisp medium+ acidity. There is a deftness to the tones of lemon curds, custard, white fruits, and oyster shells.
Overall: This is a very interesting and enjoyable wine. There is a real nice light quality to it, though it is lacking some depth. (3738 views) | | Tasted by RickyT12 on 6/18/2013 & rated 93 points: Light yellow color. Great nose fresh forest type nose, cut grass, woodsy, honey nose. Peach taste almost like a nice tea in its' flavors. Very good for a summer day.Honey taste and light stone fruits flavors coming through. Big fan of this wine. (3179 views) | | Tasted by Old Doug on 2/22/2012 & rated 88 points: Popped and poured; got better with time in the glass. In fact, by the time you read the whole name of the wine, it's better. Definitely apple and citrus on the nose, a good palate - smooth and pleasurable to drink, citrus again and a hazelnut quality. Will be interesting to try this again in a year or two. (3049 views) | | Tasted by MQuentel@web.de on 1/27/2012 & rated 87 points: A good Verdicchio, but not on the elegant side. The fruit reminds me on apple / fruit puree, galia melon and lemons. It lacks a little bit of freshness, but overall a good wine. (2539 views) | | Tasted by Stefanos T. on 1/20/2012 & rated 90 points: Light lemony color with a grey hue. Nose is of medium intensity with tangy lemony aromas, lemon zest, citrus flowers and an intense nutty (almondy) dimension. Palate is medium to full with medium to high acidity, pronounced lemon zest flavours, nuttiness, hints of minerality, phenolic texture which leaves a slight astringency on the gums and a long finish. Probably the wine would hav benefited from further ageing and for sure it needs decanting to open up. (1482 views) | | Tasted by Sarastro on 12/25/2011 & rated 91 points: Elegant and delicate at the nose, with a solid structure to go.
Light golden in color
The nose has a delicate citric opening, lemon zest and green apple... a very well integrated wood scent... leaving space to the minerality tipical of a Verdicchio with 5year+
Mouth: a solid acidity balanced with a touch sweet,. alcohol perfectly integrated.
This wine is in a particular phase, though being fully enjoyable it is loosing the youth exuberance, leaving space to an interesting maturity... where tertiary notes will give new emotions.
i intend to revisit it in 1-2 years (2144 views) | | Tasted by Jossik on 11/21/2010 & rated 85 points: Decisamente diverso e sottotono rispetto all'altra bevuta pochi mesi fa. Naso floreale, un tocco d'agrume, forse un filo troppo dolce al naso dove rimane un po' stretto. Decisamente più ampio in bocca (1388 views) | | Tasted by Jossik on 9/19/2010 & rated 92 points: Mio, molto elegante e pultio, al naso il tipico confetto non dolce, bocca bella strutturata (1547 views) | | Tasted by BYOB on 4/26/2008 & rated 90 points: Golden in color, this is a terrific italian white bursting with hints of apple and lemon. Excellent recommendation from my friends at Binnys. (1497 views) |
