Tasted by Steff on 5/24/2014 & rated 90 points: Nice fruity nose, a hint of spice. Intense taste on the mouth and long aftertaste, pleasant acidity, clear notes of oak. Improved over 6 years in cellar from my recollection of purchase in 2008. (2302 views)
Tasted by AudunG on 1/26/2014 & rated 87 points: A lot of wood here, in addition to dark berries. Quite silky texture. Fruity, warm, compact and very concentrated. Bitter finish. Is probably better with food. Impressive, but not my style. (2284 views)
Tasted by Kento61 on 4/27/2013 & rated 88 points: April 2013. Drinking very well now. Well rounded, balanced and smooth Chianti....and not too dry (2568 views)
Tasted by Kento61 on 9/10/2012 & rated 91 points: Very solid chianti. Smooth, flavor well balanced (2951 views)
Tasted by redrhonewine on 4/9/2010 & rated 89 points: Nice Chianti, if overpriced. This is completely different than the '01. This one has some nice red fruits up front (even some dark fruit notes) and softer, sweeter tannins. The '01 was huge and just now loosening up on the tannins and showing wonderful fruit. So, this one is good but no comparison to the '01. (3472 views)
Tasted by aldoassada on 7/3/2009 & rated 82 points: What a dissapointing wine. I drunk this wine on a blind tasting agaisnt anothers Chianti Classico DOCG, indepdent if the wine was Riserva or not. On the nose some aromas that is not so typical from Chianti Classico; strawberry iogurt, something smoked and a little licorice cherry (thatīs for me itīs typical!). Medium structure, "lost" acidity, too much bitter (oh crap...). Final of medicinal... (1723 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
