Tasted by Mscruggs on 6/23/2016 & rated 92 points: I was a little concerned with 5 bottles left in my cellar and CT community recommending I consume this by 2014. So used a Coravin to pour myself 2 glasses to see how it's doing? Let's just say it is showing great right now!! Blueberry compote on the nose. The tannin are well integrated with sweet blue fruits on a very long finish. I think this wine easily has a couple of more years. (2082 views)
Tasted by Snag One on 2/14/2016 & rated 92 points: Wonderful complexity and balance. Super soft tannins with a great finish and mouthfeel. We decanted the wine for about an hour before we poured the first glass. This wine still has some cellar time, but we're out of the 2005, so sad. (2170 views)
Tasted by mxpbuy on 1/22/2016 & rated 91 points: A very nice Cab / Bordeaux blend. This wine is very well made and seem like it has another 4 or 5 very solid years ahead of it. On the nose there is far more blueberry than the 12% Merlot would have you guess. The red fruit and veggies of the 12% CF appear at the finish. (2230 views)
Tasted by Snag One on 3/1/2015 & rated 92 points: Loads of ripe red fruit, licorice and toast. Wonderful wine. (2374 views)
Tasted by Drankthewholebottle on 8/28/2013 & rated 91 points: I think it's time to drink 'em if you got 'em. There was a bit of heat at first, then it softened u a little too much. Still had nice fruit and a voluptuous mouth-feel, but nearing it's end. (3164 views)
Tasted by peterk on 5/19/2012 & rated 92 points: After the initial heat blew off, this was a big, dark, fruity, voluptuous wine. (2161 views)
Tasted by Rickfell on 1/1/2012 & rated 94 points: I really like this, will last much longer than the CT window, it's big back fruit, smoke, bacon fat, vanilla, my kind of wine. Had it with a tenderloin and was a great match. (2254 views)
Tasted by Rolster72 on 12/6/2011 & rated 91 points: A very solid wine. Full bodied - good acidity. This wine drank well after decanting but still had lots of life left in it. Smooth - a bit smokey but with a solid red fruit backbone. (2051 views)
Tasted by peterk on 10/9/2011 & rated 91 points: Straight from the bottle - dark fruit, smoky, intense, powerful and lingering- my guess is that this still has some good years ahead of it. (2088 views)
Tasted by winestem on 11/29/2009 & rated 91 points: I liked this a lot more than the Behrens Family Cabernet! And at almost half the price...well, you can interpret what I'm thinking! (2147 views)
Tasted by ink_junkie on 8/6/2009 & rated 92 points: I really dig this wine, but probably not for everyone. Smokey and cedar with dark fruit on the nose--beautiful color in the glass. Very dry with balanced acidity. Blueberries, pencil shavings, vanilla, and leather on the taste. Solid tannin structure that will age nicely. Looking forward to trying this again in a year or two. (1418 views)
Tasted by mellison on 1/9/2009 & rated 94 points: Excellent expression of Cabernet right out of the bottle with a fantastic nose. Tastes of black raspberries, blueberries, smoke and tobacco. Very smooth with pronounced glycerin and a nice long finish. Absolutely beat the socks off a 1991 Leonetti Cab. Will be interesting to see how it ages since it was superb straight from the bottle with only a hint of tannins. (2003 views)
Tasted by calgarywino on 12/31/2008 & rated 88 points: Nice wine but was following a couple of blockbusters so couldn't show its true colors. (1244 views)
Tasted by KLwines on 7/26/2008 & rated 93 points: Excellent bottle of wine. WINNER of the evening. First Impressions of cocoa, dark fruits including blueberry. Nice long finish with hints of anise tailing it off.
Would definitely buy more to cellar. Would be very interesting to see how this wine evolves. Even at this young age, this wine is drinking exceptionally well .. with time to settle and develop, this could become an monster. I'm looking forward to it. (2094 views)
Tasted by Terran23 on 7/25/2008 & rated 92 points: Straight out of the bottle, the nose explodes with creamy, sweet fruit. You know what you're getting into here. No discernable heat, bottle is drinking well now. Taste of plum and vanilla on the finish. Another winnah from the Behrens, Drinkward crew. After 2-3 hours, the nose was still intoxicating. Lined this bad boy up with a 03 Macauley Cab and a 97 Thomas Fogerty Cab. Spare Me more than held its own. We ordered a case around midnight. (1880 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
