Tasted by JHH51 on 8/20/2019 flawed bottle: Found in the back of my cellar. Way past the drinking window. (682 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 9/3/2017 & rated 88 points: This was certainly developed. Tertiary notes of earth, pepper and leather. A decent palate of aged wine flavours and a soft finish.

This had held on very well. (956 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 8/20/2005 & rated 88 points: Jeff & Lisa’s: Blind: had a distinctive pruney, light cherry, black cassis and berry nose with plenty of old wood notes. A bit simple, lacked tar, floral elements so went for a med. aged chianti. This was a ’92 zin! Jeff guessed it on the nose. It was very good, but not complex and rich enough for Nebiolo. Very tasty, though. (1486 views)
Tasted by mdefreitas on 2/18/1999 & rated 85 points: Zins @ Minetta Tavern (NYC): Lighter in color. A slight bit of cardboard... this must have been slightly corked, but still drinkable. (2830 views)
Tasted by buckeye76 on 2/19/1998 & rated 86 points: RASPBERRIES, CHERRIES, AND LICORICE IN THE NOSE WITH A FLAVOR TO MATCH, AND A MEDIUM LENGTH FINISH. (1085 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
