Tasted by flydcjets on 3/19/2011 & rated 90 points: Enjoyed it so much, we opened a second bottle! (3039 views)
Tasted by shakedown on 12/23/2010 & rated 89 points: Bright, Crisp, long finish. Very light color. Really nice example of cali cool weather chard unoaked. (3501 views)
Tasted by wongkevins on 10/31/2010 & rated 87 points: Good acidity and balance, not too buttery and rather nice on the palate. (3248 views)
Tasted by mmurry on 2/20/2010 & rated 91 points: The first thing you'll notice about that this wine is the color. It's almost clear as water. The nose is very floral with apple and pear undertones. It also has quite a bit of spice. The palate is slightly sweet. There is lots of apple and pear fruit upfront. Underneath was some very nice spice. It finishes with some very tasty floral notes. This is my style of Chardonnay. (1552 views)
Tasted by dmurphy@mbcse.com on 1/3/2010 & rated 92 points: This Chardonnay is crisp, dry, clean on the palate, and long on the finish. Plenty of citrus in the nose and none of the buttery oaked Chardonnay of the past. More like one of the best SBs you have ever had the pleasure of drinking. Merry Edwards' SB '07 all gone, but at half the price this Chardonnay is the next best thing. (1873 views)
Tasted by bmpnyc on 12/29/2009: Very good--the lack of oak really leaves the drinker curious about the varietal. Good body, a bit citrusy (in a good way), stands up well to food without overpowering. (1684 views)

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
