Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 92 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 2 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Gence on 12/2/2012 & rated 92 points: Truly delicious, at peak, very ripe and youthful nose gives way to fresh, lively, balanced palate of cassis, black cherry pie and currant. Wonderful and unique red, if I had to pick a known grape to compare it would be Cab Franc. (3148 views)
Tasted by austinwinesalon on 6/6/2010: Vini Rossi-L'Ultimo Piano (Asti Trattoria): This was quite an enjoyable wine for most, a favorite of a few. It had a clear, inky black purple color, was "lively and bright," "young and exciting," "vibrant"--ah, sweet youth. A taster found it had ripe plum and cooked fruits on the nose, was very amarone-like both in bouquet and on the palate; another thought the nose tight, and yet another found black fruit and minerals there. It had good acidity, refined fruit flavors (raspberry, baked black fruits), was dry (esp. compared to the Nino Negris), and had a long finish, "syrupy but balanced with alcohol." Probably will improve with some age. (4864 views)

Dorigo

In 1966 Girolamo Dorigo bought the first vineyards in the Colli Orientali (eastern hills) of Friuli Venezia Giulia, realizing the great potential of the land for both traditional cultivation and for innovative experiments. A knowledge that has been passed down to his son Alessio.
