| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.8 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 12 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by WineGuyX on 3/3/2023 & rated 92 points: So delicous. Obviously sweet with bruised apricot, peach and menbrillo. Still young and exuberant with enough acid to balance the sweetness and a bit of crystalline minerality in the finish. What it lacks in elegance and complexity it makes up for in sheer deliciousness! Drink now -2028. 92. (316 views) | | Tasted by K is for Kate on 11/21/2010 & rated 89 points: Considerable sweetness but with a tart acidity to balance. At a blind tasting, I found myself referring to it as the sweet-tart wine. Very tasty but simple and obvious. It was a crowd-pleaser at the tasting. (3465 views) | | Tasted by Chris Newport on 4/15/2010: What a nice wine... and who ever said that a true kabinett isn't made any more? Very nice, aromatice nose, a little spritz, great cut and delineation with just a touch of sweetness... an excellent wine to dirnk on the porch on a spring evening. Would buy again in a heartbeat at the price. My love affair with the '08 vintage continues. (3486 views) | | Tasted by Steve in St Cloud on 3/18/2010 & rated 88 points: Nice fruit, sweeter and with a spritz I don't recall last year. Enough acid to balance. Enjoyable. (3551 views) | | Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 3/2/2010 & rated 88 points: Simple but good. Sweet and shows floral, honey and peach on the palate. Medium finish. (3366 views) | | Tasted by Saint Stephen on 2/1/2010 & rated 89 points: This is very nice but surprisingly sweet although the underlying acidity is there - I would have preferred something a little crisper and less round but this is still very nice. (1784 views) | | Tasted by hutch on 1/19/2010 & rated 88 points: Skurnik/Theise Spring Tasting (City Winry): Bright and clean. Great fruit. Balanced. Very nice. 88+ (3078 views) |

#2014 Vintage Notes: 2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise 2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator "My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)NaheAn der Nahe erwarten den Besucher sanftes Grün, romantische Flusstäler und dramatische Felsformationen. Interactive map on weinlagen.info |
