Tasted by Harley1199 on 5/31/2019: Paris, Toujours Paris; 5/29/2019-6/1/2019 (Paris - France): Served by the glass at Willi's bar. Mineral on the nose with memories of aniseed and lemon rind without confit.
Delicious bitterness that stretches to the aftertaste which provides balance and length. Without complications. Ready to be enjoyed.

Servido por copas. Mineral en nariz con recuerdos de anises y de corteza de limón sin confitar.
Delicioso amargor que se estira hasta el retrogusto lo que le proporciona equilibrio y longitud. Sin complicaciones. Para disfrutar. (941 views)
Tasted by french16 on 12/12/2011: St Joseph vs Crozes Hermitage (Our place): Somewhat rich nose, honey and apricot. Fat and oily texture but stays fresh. Savory note with some lime. Feels like there's a touch of oak (not new). Nice hint of almond on the finish. The fruit on the palate is borderline exotic with mango.
Very good wine. (3203 views)
Tasted by Kriz on 8/11/2011 & rated 88 points: Apple, a little oxidised and maybe therefore a hint of gout de petrole. Lovely wine to pair with food however. (2583 views)
Tasted by DanR on 6/14/2010 & rated 91 points: Rich and unctuous, very generous with its nutty pineapple and lemon peel flavors. Showcases a zesty, stony minerality on the finish. Terrific acidity. Simply delicious. Drink up. (2802 views)
Tasted by tendring on 4/22/2010 & rated 86 points: Wine Education Service - Northern Rhône (LSE): Initially quite an oaky nose but patience yields some fruit (oranges and lemons.
Oaky fruit, refreshing citrus, lovely creamy mid palate, will keep. (3065 views)
Tasted by hadwin on 4/22/2010 & rated 75 points: WES - Northern Rhone (LSE Holbourn): Deep gold colour, clear and bright. Nose reminiscent of herbal tea and white flower. Good acidity, crisp, clean. Citrus - ripe lemons on palate. Long. (3168 views)
Tasted by Rupert on 4/6/2010 & rated 90 points: Floral, but with a citrus twist, fragrant, nicely layered, lovely bottle (1446 views)
Tasted by talentedwine on 3/6/2010 & rated 90 points: Nice nose and body, lots of mineral, lemon, Nice finish. (1452 views)
Tasted by rhit on 10/16/2009 & rated 91 points: My first Crozes-Hermitage Blanc, this was not what I expected (perhaps incorrectly). This wine had all the characteristics of a white Burgundy, including mineral, lemon, and oak funk on the nose, ample acid and slight roundness in the mouth, and a crisp finish. This really reminded me of a 1er Cru St Aubin or Mersault and maybe even a bit of the Macon. Anyway, I didn't get the notes/flavors I've had in other (presumably) Marsanne/Rousanne/Viognier blends, but who cares? This stuff was very well-put-together, and a pleasure to drink. (1616 views)

Northern Rhône

Guide to the wines and appellations of the Northern Rhone Valley -

The Rhône Valley/Le Vins de la Vallée du Rhône (Comité Interprofession des vins AOC Côtes et vallée du Rhône)

Regional History:
Phocaean Greeks established viticulture in the Rhone as far back as 600 BC, but until the 14th century the wines were not seen outside the region. The establishment of the Avignonese Papacy (1305-1377) brought fame to the region's wine-so much so that their Burgundian neighbors to the north banned wines from the Rhone in 1446, a measure that effectively cut off trade with England and other Northern European markets for over 200 years. Stretching southward from Lyon to just south of Avignon, the Rhone produces a wide variety of wines, with the appellations north of Valence producing the least (in volume), and the towns south of Montelimar producing prodigious amounts. As in other regions, the most interesting wines come from small farms. Saint-Joseph, in the northern Rhone, extends for some distance between Condrieu in the north to Saint-Peray in the south. The reds are made from Syrah and the rare whites from Marsanne and Roussanne, and Viognier.

### 2017 vintage ###
"The first red wines already tasted in the Northern Rhône promise a beautiful vintage, with a quality close to the 2015 or even the 2009 vintage" - NEWRHÔNE MILLESIMES
