Very enjoyable but hard to pair with food which such a rose fragrance (4969 views) | | Tasted by mdonovan on 2/10/2011 & rated 90 points: robe violette, nez discret, goût de fruits rouges très prononcé et tanins assez fondus : un vin agréable à boire avec des aliments ayant du gout. (5165 views) | | Tasted by Alex H on 11/10/2010 & rated 84 points: This explodes with rose petals and bandung! Extremely unorthodoxly rosy nose. Very sweet pretty smelling. Even on the palate this is essence of rose water. Soft tannins almost silky texture mouthfeel. Drinkable now and might hold on for another 3 years? Sweet morello cherries. (5396 views) | | Tasted by Paul S on 11/10/2010 & rated 89 points: Just the strangest little wine. The closest thing I have had to this was a Ruche. Very interesting, objectively not bad, but all in all, really unusual. Quite incredible on the nose. Just an explosion of rose petals, very Bandung-like (a Malay drink of rose water and evaporated milk). Hard to get anything past the roses, but I thought there was some red fruit below that, and a bit of earth. Palate had a touch of bright acidity on the attack, and then roses and more roses, before the flowery perfume finally gave way to some sweet morello cherries at the back-palate, along with a shortish finish full of Lots of spice. A little spike of alcohol and fine tannins marked the tail-end of the wine. Light to mid-bodied, rather balanced, a bit like drinking alcoholic rose water! Enjoyable in its own way, but this is probably a wine that needs to find a good food pairing in order to shine. BBQ'ed white meat maybe? (5470 views) |
