Tasted by worbx on 11/27/2015: Deep, slightly explosive fruit, a rich mouthfeel, and a good spice note that contributes to a sharp, but not very crisp, flavor. (790 views)
Tasted by Cellarseller on 11/7/2013 & rated 90 points: Very nice with spicy fish. (1285 views)
Tasted by leonardo_de_araujo on 8/1/2011 & rated 88 points: Interesting how a Gewurztraminer can taste different...
On the nose it brings the sweetness of a moscato d'asti or even the caramelized oranges and honey of an ice wine
Yet it is a dry wine. No sugar really
Good acidity.
Very different on the palate from the nose.
Very interesting (2582 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 5/24/2011: Gewurtzy-poo in the rice cooker flavor profile. Palate is full but not inviting. Here it is. Strange in its own way. Makes you take another look just because. (2555 views)
Tasted by gutt22 on 5/19/2011: 14.1% alcohol. Light yellow color. Beautiful, quite expressive nose of peach, flowers, and minerals. In the mouth, a really lovely texture -- rich without being cloying but also refreshing and bone dry. The peach and pear flavors mix nicely with a noticeable but not overbearing floral note. Bright acidity and a smooth finish. A- (2574 views)
Tasted by T.J.Burn on 5/11/2011 & rated 88 points: Tangy fruits, some spice and minerals. Good mouthfeel. Medium finish, though there is something odd on the finish. 3-6 months would probably see some improvement. (2630 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/13/2011: Lemon and high gewurtz fruit on the nose. Very high acid for Gewurtz. Especially 14.1% alc. gewurtz. I would guess that has to be acidified. Very intense across the back of the palate with its acids. (1653 views)
Tasted by gutt22 on 2/26/2011: Bone dry, and you can smell it in the refreshing minerals on the nose, along with crisp peach and citrus fruit. In the mouth, a more floral note comes in with peach and citrus notes, along with plenty of minerals and strong acidity. The finish allows the mineral notes to linger. I love how dry this is, a wonderfully crisp expression. A- (1364 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 12/13/2010 & rated 88 points: Eclectic White Blindtasting (Rich and Peggy's Home in Los Altos, CA): Group's #3 (my #4) – 18 pts.; 2, 1, 0, 1 - light chartreuse yellow color; old roses, gardenia, smoke nose with a hint of cat pee; tangy, heavy, smoky, spicy, tart peach palate; medium finish (1708 views)
Tasted by dhammer53 on 8/24/2010 & rated 89 points: This will taste better as it gets closer to room temperture vs cold out of the fridge. A hint of minerals and grapefruit. Very nice. (2033 views)
Tasted by dhammer53 on 6/20/2010 & rated 90 points: Slightly sweet and floral. Apricots. Some minerals. Drank at Fathers Day brunch at The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry NY. Corkage $15. (2139 views)
Tasted by brianngibson on 6/17/2010 & rated 91 points: Color of sun dried hay stacks. Grapefruit, apricot and pear. Delicious. (1855 views)

Gewürztraminer

Varietal Character (Appellation America)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
