Looks like this wine does not keep for two long. In future, we will try to drink it within a year of release. (2522 views) | | Tasted by Jason Rzutkiewicz on 5/5/2011 & rated 87 points: (12%) 50% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cot (Malbec), 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon – A Dressner selection this is labeled as Vin de Pays as a red wine from the region of Muscadet is not allowed. Before anything else you know this one will be racy (acidity) and Gamay like. Here the nose and palate quickly confirm. On the palate this one shows the triple T’s…tart, (seemingly but not really) thin and tight with intense minerality. Given the nature of whites I’m struck by what terroir seems to impart here. Most may prefer this one paired with food but I like it as a standalone despite the short finish. As for those that say serve it slightly chilled I say no thanks. I’ll take it as it is. How about you? (2573 views) | | Tasted by rrdoucet on 4/2/2011: Cab Franc from a great producer in the Loire. Wanted to like it but it was just too acidic at this age. Probably one to hold for a few years or more. (2113 views) | | Tasted by Joshiemac on 3/26/2011 & rated 90 points: Nice wine: light-bodied, bright acidity, minerals, chalk, cherry. Great balance. Fresh and alive. Really enjoyed this bottle. (1991 views) | | Tasted by chrisanderika on 2/27/2011 & rated 87 points: Excellent, affordable wine by committed maker Marc Ollivier (can’t wait to try his Muscadet). Blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec (Côt). What stands out here is the delicious experience of wet stone (he doesn’t call it Cuvee Granit for nothing!). Nose: granite ending with warm plum. Palate: luscious Cabernet Franc black currant; soft rounded tannins. Finish is again wet stone. (1768 views) | | Tasted by James Kim on 1/9/2011 & rated 90 points: Opened for ~1hr. Translucent garnet. Blend of Cab Franc, Merlot, and cot. Beautiful aromas of flowers, earth, mushrooms, raspberries and rhubarb. Palate shows earth, a bit of tar, herbs, tart cherries, cranberries, and rhubarb. Lip smacking acidity and moderate tannins. The full blast of the finish is medium but there is a lingering ghost of berries and earth which won't let go. Lean but full flavored. Nice. (1084 views) | | Tasted by Aaron Finkel on 8/25/2009 & rated 89 points: Delicious wine. Fresh, lively, light, fruity. Like a beaujolais-villages, only better. (1148 views) |
