Tasted by drjb on 12/16/2023 & rated 96 points: At Harvey's, Fortitude Valley. This is a truly beautiful bottle of Perrieres that is many ways reference standard. The colour was properly pale green gold with a forthcoming nose of white peaches, lemon and lime zest with touches of nuts, honey and oatmeal. The palate is richly flavoured yet nicely austere on the finish with a fine minerality and terrific drive from beginning to end. While there lovely touches of honey and oatmeal there is plenty of room for further maturity here but ultimately it is simply lovely now. (439 views)
Tasted by Peech on 2/5/2022 & rated 96 points: lovely toasty nose, this was soooo buttery and soooo freaking beautiful! Wow! (1684 views)
Tasted by LW31 on 1/26/2022: Superb showing and totally surprising for 2009. Really beautiful fruit, great complexity, classic Perrieres profile. Ready to go but should hold for years. (1826 views)
Tasted by hahaha123 on 8/21/2021 & rated 92 points: Too young to drink (1932 views)
Tasted by sdr on 7/9/2020 & rated 90 points: Is it just the vintage that accounts for the disappointing showing of what should be a fabulous mature Meursault from a great producer? Or has Dominique Lafon changed his vinification since then to produce the wonderful wines from recent vintages? Consistent with the previous bottle it’s broad, obvious and concentrated yet lacks the precision and cut of better examples. Worse yet, it is so, so simple. Compared with the dazzling 2014 for example, the weakness is obvious. (2763 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 4/13/2020 & rated 90 points: It’s okay. A little fruit heavy but in almost an oily waxy way. Acids muted and finish long and hot. (2473 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 3/6/2020 & rated 92 points: La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Perfumed with ripe stone fruit and very good density. Softer finish. Best to enjoy over the next 5 years while this remains this fresh. Somehow I haven't tasted this wine since barrel tasting in 2010! (3127 views)
Tasted by steinersing on 12/22/2019 & rated 95 points: A good showing, some gun powder. Slightly broader than expected for the plot but a great effort. Would drink now. (2058 views)
Tasted by BenBlu on 11/20/2019 & rated 95 points: I was quite suprised by how advanced this was (also highlighted later side by side the 2010) - visually quite dark in colour, toffee notes, hint of coffee bean and a fat salty finish. My suspicion here is a slight premox however it didn't take away from the enjoyment and although the 2010 is the better wine the 2009 was the one I was probably keen on drinking more today. It also worked very well with the foie gras and lobster risotto dishes. If representative bottle in terms of development drink earlier rather than later. (1948 views)
Tasted by frog777 on 10/20/2019: vin oxydé (1342 views)
Tasted by sdr on 10/15/2019 & rated 91 points: Brought to Gabriel Kreuther. Very nice but getting long in the tooth so better to drink now than later. That’s due to the vintage not any nasty oxidation, at not least this time, despite the medium gold tint. Very typical Meursault in its fat orchard fruit taste profile although the Perrières vignoble, not so much. Slightly low acidity. Easy to drink. (1466 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 8/17/2019 & rated 97 points: Meursault Perrieres blind tasting 1988-2011: Another stunner from Lafon in these flights. So clean and crisp, no heat of 2009 visible. Nose of minerals, match sticks, green apple, lemon curd. Impressive from start to finish. (2397 views)
Tasted by bigop on 10/29/2018 & rated 93 points: Outstanding bottle, no sign of premox here.
Vibrant acidity and clarity of aromas. Great delineation, balance, poise and complexity all in one wine. Delicious and getting better in the glass minutes after minutes. (1616 views)
Tasted by sdr on 9/22/2018 & rated 93 points: If you enjoy oatmeal for breakfast you will surely love this Lafon for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Nicely fragrant, gaining maturity, good texture. Getting even more leesy as the years go on. Not the most mineral of Perrières, but that is the vintage. Delicious and so easy to drink. Holds up very well in the glass over 2 hours. (1719 views)
Tasted by bigop on 1/15/2018 & rated 92 points: med- pale golden yellow. Med instensity of aromas (ripe apple mostly).
Med+ acidity balancing a med+ body and med+ flavours of apple, white peach, honeysuckle. Notes of oak but in the background. Pleasant saltiness also, tangy acidity for sure. Med+ length, good complexity. Good wine for sure but not great though. My white 08 and 10s are delivering more than this warm vintage. (2016 views)
Tasted by sdr on 9/15/2017 & rated 94 points: Maturing fabulously, the 2009 Lafon Perrières marries intensity and elegance in a pretty package. After it warms up a bit there's a distinct note of hazelnuts. Relatively lush in Perrières terms but not too broad or obvious. Clean versions of Lafon demonstrate why it is, or was, revered. (2415 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 4/12/2017: A little less refined than expected, says my wife, whose birthday we celebrated with it. (2630 views)

Tasted by WoodieBayArea on 2/9/2017 & rated 92 points: fine bottle of meursault... this had real depth but also structure to hold it together, good acid for sure and lemon / lemon rind fruit... very nice, but I think I can hunt down this quality for less than the $200 I paid for it, perhaps I drank too young? (even tho I like them young and '09 was a rounder year)... so burnt by promox theses days that I view '09 in the zone... sad sad (2340 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 2/3/2017 & rated 94 points: J'ai mis 94, mais disons vrai, j'aurais pu mettre cent. Merveilleux réveil de l'esprit et des sens. Avec du sea bass, des clams, un p'tit basque. Sur une discussion de l'avenir de mes créations. La veille du départ pour un voyage de trois semaines. Merci à toute l'équipe! (1953 views)
Tasted by justburg on 4/28/2016 & rated 91 points: Rousseau dinner at Jade Palace. Bright yellowish gold. Like the Coche drank alongside, this had to warm up to a higher temperature to really show its worth. Very flamboyant and rich wine. Lovely nose of tropical fruit, yellow roses, sweetened pineapple and peach. This seemed a little Puligny like in character though, with lots of minerality, wet rocks and grass. Good length and complexity, and like the Coche, lots of weight with extended time. A really lovely wine, so young yet so accessible. (2584 views)
Tasted by sdr on 11/21/2015 & rated 94 points: Simply fabulous Meursault from the master. Classic Perrieres, almost delicate and very, very elegant, yet with that special oatmeal, brown butter and hazelnut profile classic to the land that is Meursault. Since it's still a couple of years short of fully blossoming I left room for my score to go even higher in the future. (2415 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 10/31/2015 & rated 93 points: Delicious w/ grilled flounder. Subtle touch of wood at the end. (2258 views)
Tasted by Mazy on 8/5/2015 & rated 94 points: (Non carafé ni épaulé, ouvert quelques heures à l'avance)

92 pts (3083 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
