Tasted by Stefanos T. on 7/21/2012 & rated 90 points: Color is medium garnet, transparent and limpid. Nose has a very nice floral lift, along fresh plum, dark cherries and some vegetal and lactic notes. Palate is medium bodied at most, but very flavorful with fresh plum, licorice, earthy spice and dark cherry. Good balance between slightly coarse grained tannins, acidity and fruit. Alcohol although at 13,5% shows a little. Very enjoyable light bodied but aromatic Chianti Classico Riserva. (2450 views)
Tasted by liteagilis on 3/4/2012 & rated 84 points: I first wanted to give this bottle a higher score but it finishes bitter and with some alcoholic heat. The wine is spicy and plummy on the nose with evidence of oak. On the palate it is rich, full-bodied by Chianti standards with medium-high acid and fierce tannin. This is so much different than the Felsina Rancia from the same vintage. Good juice maybe but only for the long haul and I worry that nothing can cover up that back palate burn.... (2549 views)
Tasted by JWCalhoun on 2/10/2012 & rated 93 points: A fantastically smooth chianti! Give it a shot (2551 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 5/27/2011 & rated 92 points: Aromatic with herbs, cherry, flowers, red fruit, licorice; intense mouth and long finish. Killer Chianti, complex, with a long finish. (2030 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
