Tasted by GD77 on 3/22/2021 flawed bottle: Pure brett at its most ripe and stinky. Expected as such but was hoping the fruit had been eaten up into the wine to leave something interesting. Not at all. This wine tasted as it did 10 years ago. Cork was spongy and quite mouldy also. (871 views)
Tasted by battytaxicab on 8/11/2018 & rated 90 points: Deep, rich ruby colour. Still quite luscious and fruity and had kept well. Was probably at the end of its years but very enjoyable. Will try to find more of its ilk. (1308 views)
Tasted by GD77 on 5/6/2017 flawed bottle: Cork perfect, but wine is extremely bretty like every other one from the dozen, still some fruit but only for someone that can tolerate brett at its worst. 50. (1953 views)
Tasted by chatters on 11/18/2016: Pleasant enough mature Australian Shiraz, dark, berry based fruit backed by contained oak. Tannins are near resolved. Balanced, polished. Nice (2561 views)
Tasted by HarrisonHool on 9/4/2016 & rated 91 points: Powerful and dances on the palate (2302 views)
Tasted by peter.mancell@mfg.com.au on 8/13/2016 & rated 92 points: Still a lovely McLaren Vale Shiraz. Deep dark fruit, glycerine like mouth coating feel but not syrupy at all. Long finish with a hint of spice, glad we have a couple remaining. (1711 views)
Tasted by HarrisonHool on 1/8/2016 & rated 92 points: Appearance : Deep Ruby in colour. Very light sediment. ‎
Nose: Medium intensity of dark berries and plum, spice and vanilla with oak
Palate: Rather dry and medium acidity. Pleasant tannins present and mild on the palate. Full body. Flavours open with raspberry and blueberry leading to a long spicy finish.

Conclusion : Very good. (1565 views)
Tasted by JerM on 7/8/2013 & rated 92 points: (mid-winter Brunner@Mich&Bo's) Classic McLaren shiraz, well aged - leather, black pepper, barnyard pong, dark dense, dusty, juicy and integrated and yummy! (2286 views)
Tasted by G.M. on 5/28/2012 & rated 91 points: Strong ripe dark plums with vanillan American oak. Very smooth, rich chocolatey shiraz. Drinking well now. (2248 views)
Tasted by JerM on 5/22/2012 & rated 93 points: Ruby garnet in the glass, dense luscious perfume of violets, dark berries and new leather. Velvety and with good concentration, more spicy dark fruits, cocoa and winter spices emerge amidst soft chewy tannins, rather reminiscent of a black-forest gateau. Focused and pure, while textural, the finish is long and pleasant, with minty eucalypt and wonderful savouriness emerging. Great example of McLaren fruit - memorable! (3005 views)
Tasted by mattwoolley on 9/25/2011 & rated 90 points: settled nicely in the last 2 years. Regional chocolate, blackberry and licorice. Elegant palate with resolving tannins, structured and surprisingly savoury. Restored my faith. (2242 views)
Tasted by Tjeerio on 9/4/2010 & rated 91 points: Interesting shiraz, but still a bit tanic. Developed quite a bit while drinking it the first night and developed some awkward smell at some point. Next day it was much more settled and pleasant. Might have to wait a further 1 or 2 years.. (2289 views)
Tasted by Patrick - winereviewer.com.au on 4/30/2010 & rated 92 points: Ripe red and dark fruits on the nose, the palate is rich and layered with the fruit melded perfectly with high quality oak, the finish is long with subtle hints of dark chocolate

Tasted by mattwoolley on 5/9/2009 & rated 88 points: Still slightly awkward - flashes of something very good but not sustained; plenty of years left so maybe time will sort it out. Muted nose slowly opened with raspberry and fruitcake spice, 2 hours in the decanter added blueberry, floral notes, a touch of cream and licorice, occasionally an unsettling flash of wood. Palate was full of plush tannins, definitely chewy (a bit too much) and an odd rubbery note; wonderful violets in the roof of the mouth complemented the fruit, chocolate and spice on the finish with a hint of mint.  Tasted by pepper on 10/23/2007 & rated 93 points: Lush, round, and delicious. (2191 views)
