Looks like a Coonawarra cabernet should. Day 2 and the wine was more integrated, compost leaf, stewed mulberry, and vanilla oak. Nice savoury firm tannins to finish. Enjoyed it so much. (248 views) | | Tasted by cerobo on 8/24/2019 & rated 94 points: Really nicely evolved cabernet showing some secondary cigar box complexity. Beautifully balanced wine that only improved with some air. (680 views) | | Tasted by whme on 8/20/2016 & rated 90 points: Still very fruity, good tannins. Little too tart for me but a good food wine. (1410 views) | | Tasted by Julian B on 4/3/2015 & rated 94 points: Lovely. Will continue to hold, but quite well integrated now. Drink by 2019. (1623 views) | | Tasted by Crateandbarrell on 7/20/2014 & rated 88 points: - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of mint and rose and has flavours of sherry, black pepper and moldy cork - Opened and let breath for 45 minutes. The sweet spot for this rose syrup was too narrow for me to enjoy for the extent of the bottle. (2129 views) | | Tasted by graemeg on 4/3/2014: {screwcap, 14.5%} Decanted and served. Lovely developing cabernet aromas; currants and cedary oak; drenched with an olive/tapenade tang. Plenty of depth of flavour, with a distinct Australian eucalypt tang to it; there are medium resolving tannins, medium-bodied weight, and a medium-long finish. Very tidy wine which doesn’t taste hot. Developing nicely, should be lovely for another five years at least. (2099 views) | | Tasted by bnicholls on 2/23/2014: mooches cellar (1760 views) | | Tasted by VinoHobo on 11/18/2012 & rated 91 points: Thick, chocolatey with cooked plums and black pepper. Took a while to open up, a bit disjointed on the finish but it solved itself over the course of the bottle. Needs more time. (1307 views) | | Tasted by Tarrant on 5/19/2012 & rated 92 points: A region you forget when it comes to fabulous Cab, this Coonawarra gem was fabulous - Black, full bodied with a nose of blackfruit, plum, cedar, euchalyptus and vanilla, big tannic structure, yet beginning to smooth out, sweet, yet dry on the palate with terrific length, excellent! (92 Points). (1115 views) | | Tasted by VinoHobo on 11/20/2011 & rated 94 points: Forest fruits with blackcurrant, mint and berries on the nose. The palate is strong, rich and in balance with cedar, eucalypt, blackcurrant, dark cherry and some vanilla on the finish. Nice tannin structure which leaves you wanting another sip. (1010 views) | | Tasted by Double-A on 10/4/2011 & rated 93 points: Saturated colour. Mint, chocolate covered cherries, blackberry and toast nose. Rich, full, warming palate; good acidity and length with fine Cabernet tannins to balance. 4.5/5 (159 views) |

| Zema Estate Producer WebsiteCabernet SauvignonCabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet SauvignonAustralia Wine Australia (Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation) | Australian Wines (Wikipedia)South Australia South Australian Wine Industry Association | South Australian Wines (Wikipedia)Limestone Coast Limestone CoastCoonawarra Coonawarra |
